I really don't get people's issues with this kind of sprinting animation. I've tried it in real life and honestly, it makes more sense than the "traditional" way. Not only is it easier and more natural since you're still swinging your arms, but I'd argue it's safer since the muzzle of the weapon is always within your view and pointed in a safe direction directly upwards.
I don't have an issue with sprinting this way, you do you.
But I imagine because you don't have 2 hands on your weapon you have less control over it. So if by some chance you tripped, slipped, or fell. You would at least have more control over where the muzzle is point incase it were to go off.

I also imagine it isn't very tactical if your gun is pointed above your head cause that just makes you easier to see.
You can maintain additional control over the weapon by tucking the stock under your armpit, essentially using the arm as a vice to keep the weapon under control.
There is no safe way to fall with a gun, but if you were to fall the muzzle being pointed skyward is as safe a direction as you can get. Additionally, the weapon going off shouldn't be a concern if you're practicing proper firearms safety techniques, IE finger off the trigger unless firing and safety on when on the move.
Also consider, in real life, it's not like using any one technique excludes you from using another. So if being seen is a concern you can just sprint the "traditional" way instead...though if you're in a situation where you need to be booking it at the kinda pace where running muzzle up is most practical being seen likely isn't a consideration anymore.
I tend to agree with you as someone who spent time in the military if a Drill instructor ever watched you handle a rifle in this way you would be in for the smoking of your life. if you're not firing your weapon or cleaning it you carry it in low port period.
Now I don't care how you carry a gun in a video game you can't hurt yourself or others, but please do not try to justify this sort of animation by saying it is safe to do in real life where real lives are on the line thank you
It's just an animation. I don't know how that can be tactical but its one of these buzzwords to get all the tacticool people on board. Those "justifying" the animation with claiming they tried it and it worked or something. Not really gonna get into it but Two things: 1. sprinting implies moving as fast as possible. Which is not possible if you hold your rifle like that and especially not if you hold your rifle with two hands. 2. moving as fast as possible means hands off your fire controls. grab your rifle on the magwell for better stability and range of motion therefore higher speeds. Anything else is jogging.
It actually is, It's called the high noon position or SEAL carry position and pretty much anyone who runs modern drills with an AR uses this position. It's what they're currently teaching in most classes and to Navy Seals. Took a class with Kagwerks a year ago and they did the exact same thing.
Yeah I know but like I said not for sprinting. Sprinting means going as fast as possible. Going as fast as possible is not possible carrying your rifle like that. If you don't believe me take your rifle and a stopwatch and run 100meter sprints or 200 meter sprints and compare your results. If you are talking sprinting you mean sprinting and not running or jogging (which are different things). When you are running or jogging do whatever I don't care. But sprinting implies moving as fast as you possibly can and holding you rifle like that you cannot trust me.
well, you're not a soldier, with a weapon like this you can run faster and that's why it's tactical. The weapon is heavy and running with both hands on the weapon makes you go slow (in a real case it would be mentioned because the military equipment is heavy). With 2 hands on the weapon you have a faster reaction (in the game you can see the animation speed and you will see the difference), but with one hand you are faster and you can take cover faster, this is the logic. In any case, everything is tactical, but depending on the situation.
Hefting a rifle one-handed by its rear grip is never advisable, and "SEAL carry position" is not a thing, evidenced by the fact that the top search result for the term is this comments section. Just enjoy the neat animation, it doesn't have to make sense. Remember Commando? Wasn't that scene where Arnie ran around shooting an M60 one-handed fun?

You might have less control over the rifle but you have more control over your body and biomechanics. There's a reason why runners/sprinters all have the same stance, keeping your arms tucked in and moving keeps you far more balanced than just holding them out in front of you, and if you're doing that with a rifle in both hands you're making yourself more unstable. Keeping the rifle held in one hand, in a high-ready position during short sprints works just fine. As for not having control over the rifle: if you trip and fall while holding it in both hands, in a low ready, you're less likely to be able to protect yourself from the fall and more likely to land on your rifle. When it's in a high-ready, you have a free hand to brace yourself with (or even grab hold of the rifle) and you're more likely to have the rifle land in front of you and not under you.
I agree... i have been using the ru556 and I've been torn between that and this one because I really like the animations of the ru556 but feel it needs to be faster and this one needs a slight different variation in my opinion
Sadly, I won't be doing any different weapons. There's a lot of commonality between the Mk18 Nif files and the SREP-R so the animation swap was quite simple.

Any chance you could make it for all weapons though? :D

Any chance you could make same for Handmade rifle or AKM - AK-74M mods?
any plans on doing the reloads as well?
