I've read all the posts and didn't find anything that really explained how to fix the problem easily. I also use MO2 and had all kinds of problems even finding the mod with f04edit so here was my solution for anyone else confused by the people in the posts. here is step by step what I did to fix better stores to launch with buffout 4 without the warning if your also using MO2
1. download fo4 edit the open MO2 2. click on the DATA tab in MO2 and find betterstores.esp 3. right click and hit open with VFS 4. scroll down the list and find betterstores.esp in the list and click it. 5. expand the list under betterstores in the left panel and scroll down to find "Image Space Adapter" and expand it 6. locate the entry that says 0101800A BS_pilgrimlmod in the left pannel and select it. 7. on the right side panel scroll and find the entre under HDR called "Target Lum Min Mult" there should be a 0 in the box next to it and it is not far from the top. 8. Change that 0 to a 2 and save then close fo4 editor and launch the game.
I spent 30 minuets trying to figure out how to open both mods to merge them or do whatever these other post were suggesting but it wasn't working for me and didn't make sense so here's how I fixed better stores to get it to launch with buffout 4.
thank you so much for this. i kept trying to go with the original way (Installing the "PC Memory Corruption Fix" mod) and I couldn't get it to work. I will say one thing on your instructions. I wasn't able to open the "betterstores.esp" with VFS. so I just opened it with "FO4Edit" and follow your instructions from there, and it worked like a charm. thank you again.
Maybe off topic, but can anyone give me an explanation for the custom signs and flags ? Since the original author decided to put half the description on beth.net and direct you to nexus for the rest ... which has been pulled .How the Fook do you use them !?!? 🤣
Got it working, all i did was copy the records into the Better Stores ESP in FO4edit. Unfortunately, the esp in this mod itself doesnt overwrite the issue present in the Better stores.esp records, so Buffout still detects the error but does not detect the fix from the esp. The fault is on buffout for not detecting the change.
Yo im one of those online silent people, the dont type comments for anything. Twitch, youtube, discord, nexus, you name it. My first comment on this site. I thought i was gonna end up having to type for help on some other mod as my first comment. Never thought i would be typing a fat juicy thank you. But THANKS TO BOTH YOU AND THE AUTHOR. Yall are gods, im being extra, but damn son ive been stuck on this for 2 days, borderline about to give up then i came across this mod. Thanks again you sexy fucks
Pardon my potentially immensely idiotic question but, if I run this after better stores in my load order, memory corruption shouldn't be an issue? I just got F4 remodded again after my last PC melted and would like to avoid my game melting.
I've loaded Better Stores and your mod in FO4Edit an d see the changes you've made. What do these changes do? Without these changes how was this causing memory corruption?
I've been using Better Stores for years, mostly on my XB1, and had to start of FO4 just now to figure out what the heck "Purple Pilgrims" might be. I've never built the mushrooms. Is usage of the mushrooms part of the corruption scenario?
Well if I could ever find a way to reach the author I would either ask to take over the mod since it's basically left for dead. Or share the fix. But all I know is that having this fix installed works just fine for me and I don't understand why anyone is having problems. Unless it is a load order issue.
I just tried to load this today after getting error message from Buffout 4, Even after I installed this Buffout 4 still gave me the same error as it did before. I went into FO4Edit and put the two files side by side, and copied over the fixes into the original plugin. Then I uninstalled this file. Now I don't have the error any more. I agree that I wish this mod author could take over the mod. I have the original archive file, but it doesn't help if the file is corrupt.
Thank you to Dinelan DarkStar for providing the necessary fix.
EDIT (I guess someone else below had the same idea).

After this, see if the notification still pops up. If you did it right, it will dissapear.
