About this mod
FRIK brings the full player body to life in VR! Inspired by VRIK from SkyrimVR FRIK aims to bring the same level of immersion of having your body visible to Fallout 4 VR. Full body Inverse Kinematics has been implemented to animate the arms and legs based on your controller and HMD position.

Inspired by the wildly successful and immersive VRIK mod developed by prog I bring you FRIK - Full Player Body for Fallout 4 VR!
While not a straight port of VRIK the aim is to bring similar functionality into Fallout 4 VR that has been enjoyed for a while in Skyrim VR. The arm and leg IK solver are heavily adapted from VRIK.
Features:
- Full Body Inverse Kinematics including arm and walking animation
- Pipboy wrist control on the left arm with touch on/off operation
- Configuration holotape to calibrate height and move body around to taste
- Papyrus support to add detection sphere events to bones on the player skeleton
- Selfie Mode!
- Arms only mode! - This hides the body so only arms visible like in first person mode. Useful for sitting play!
- Left handed mode supported - Still in development but basic functionality is present.
Development will continue with more features planned!

Installation:
- Install as normal through your mod manager and enable the esp
- Recommended to not use during intro. Enable after leaving the first vault after getting the Pipboy
- REQUIRES STEAMVR CONTROLLER BINDINGS FOR FINGER TRACKING TO WORK!!!! LOOK FOR FRIK BINDINGS PUBLISHED ON STEAM WORKSHOP
- You need to edit your Fallout4Custom.ini to add or amend the following lines to look like this (thanks u/JAPH):
[Archive]
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceStartUpArchiveList=Fallout4 - Startup.ba2, Fallout4 - Shaders.ba2, Fallout4 - Interface.ba2, Fallout4_VR - Shaders.ba2

Requirements:
- F4SEVR - get from https://f4se.silverlock.org/
- Fallout4 VR Tools
Incompatibilities:
- Any mod that fundamentally changes the player skeleton. CBBE has been tested and is fine
- Idle hands - This basically replaces the functionality in idle hands
- Smooth Movement - This is integrated directly into this mod so do not run alongside the standalone version
Recommendations:
- Check https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout_VR for discussion and support
- Similar to Idle hands I recommend wrist based pipboy with the following scale settings in Fallout4Prefs.ini. Set the maxscale to taste
[VRPipboy]
fPipboyMaxScale=3.0000
fPipboyMinScale = 0.0100
- If anyone's using HUIDE_VR previously alongside Idle Hands, make sure to reinstall HUIDE_VR after disabling Idle Hands and choose Vanilla in the installer instead. Kept crashing until I did. ( thanks u/Zebrazilla !!)
- Note that pipboy touch operation requires you to be looking at the screen and the screen to be facing your face to work.
- Do not save while in Power Armor. Power Armor does some weird stuff to the skeleton so best to not do this. If you do however just simply exit the Power armor, Save your game, and reload to fix any issues
- I do recommend you play through the intro and get out of the vault after you have picked up the pipboy before turning this on for now
Mod Recommendations:
- Virtual Chems - This mod by CylonSurfer works fantastically with the body to pull health and chem items off virtual pouches on your body
- Virtual Holsters - This mod by CylonSurfer added realistic holstering and sheathing to the body using FRIK bonespheres!
Video Guides!
Cylon's guide to new pipboy and body config!
New Pipboy and Configuration Menu Guide (as of v0.69):
- New Config Mode: (Press and hold both sticks down to activate, Right trigger to exit and save, left trigger to exit and restore former values)
- Pipboy Config Mode: (Press and hold right stick with the pipboy open, exit pipboy to not save changes, use the UI save button to save changes)
- Wrist Based Pipboy On / Off Improvements: (You can now press left trigger to open the Pipboy or hold trigger to turn the torch on / off - just like projected Pipboy mode)
- Switch between standard and HoloPipboy Models: (Accessed via Pipboy Config Mode)
- New Pipboy Nif: (Enables us to have both the holo and standard Pipboys interchangably in game, configured for the interactive elements and new visual changes for switches, buttons and dials)
- Switch Pipboy Torch & Radio on or off via virtual buttons: (Pipboy must be off to perform these actions)
- Interactive Pipboy UI Controls: (Need to activate wrist based Pipboy in game, game window needs to be in focus, control Pipboy with your primary index finger)
- Right handed Pipboy Controls: (Use the right stick / trigger to navigate the pipboy menus. Switcing main tabs in still the face buttons on the secondary controller).
- Switch between head and hand based torch modes: (Activate torch, raise secondary controller to top of head, you will get a continous rumble, press grip (I think))
- The right stick is disabled / enabled when toggling weapon repositioning on / off: (disables player rotation if weapon config mode has been enabled via the config UI)
- Auto hand posture for Pipboy usage: (Hand should turn to pointing guesture when in interaction distance with the pipboy (only if screen is being looked at) and return to normal when it is out of range.
- Better crouching posture both in and out of Power Armor? (See what you think?)
- Independent vertical camera , body and posture configuration offsets: (See what you think? Accessed via the main config mode)
