    Unfortunately after I created the BA2 texture archives I started getting the dark face bug. Going back to loose files cured the problem.

    I would be interested to know if there is a way around this problem.

      It's probably your load order how do you handle loose files from Bodyslide?

    is this even nescessary to add the archive files in the .ini for your textures? doesnt the game handle that automaticly - atleast with MO2?

    thank you for your very nice guide. unfortunately for me, when i try to do step 5 my archive2 keeps crashing when i select my textures folder to load. so i am stuck at not being able to create the textures_bundles folder at all.

    maybe i have a corrupt nif somewhere and archive2 crashes when trying to load it?

      But does it really crash or just stay unresponsive?

      It depends a lot, but I think that's hardly the problem, my texture folder is about 100 gbs and I have no problem with that.

      I have this exact same issue, anyone found a solution? I attempt to load the textures folder, it pauses for a little bit (maybe 8 or so seconds), I BRIEFLY noticed it say "(not responding)" on archive2 up top, then it just closes and goes away entirely.

      not sure what the origin of the archive2 crash problem was for me. but i eventually had to reinstall my fallout 4 for other reasons. archive2 comes from the creation kit that ships with fallout 4. so once i reinstalled everything i haven't had archive2 crash on me (because i deleted and reinstalled it when i reinstalled fallout 4). not sure if it'll help you, but that is what seems to have worked for me. good luck :)

      I never had any problems with LOOT, but it depends a lot, if you have 50 active mods it's ok to manage your load order manually, but in my case with 300+ it gets complicated, so far LOOT only helped.

    Regarding this part:

    if you have 16GB RAM AND 4GB VRAM OR MORE:
    [MEMORY]
    ForceVideoMemorySize=True
    VideoMemorySizeMb=10240

    I have 64 GB ram and 8 GB Vram (Geforce 2080). SHOuld I still keep VideoMemorySizeMb=10240 or higher?

      Na thanks, I deleted all files and use the mods on you recommend yesterday. Reduce res to 1360. Work normally and no lagging anymore. Thanks

    I have been trying to get my game to work to my liking.  I have had some luck with Throttle Stop and other mods, but I still have a problem with micro-stuttering.  Basically as I move (or any object on the game that moves) there is a slight slow down in the movement animation and then it picks up as normal.  This is constant and more noticeable when walking vs sprinting.  I know that my CPU  and GPU (I play on a lap top) go into a throttle state at a certain temp and then the throttle leaves, but this is constant.  I cannot really make many changes to the CPU and GPU but I have made some changes by using Throttle Stop to reduce the voltage, which in turn reduces the heat in the CPU and GPU and yet does not negatively impact performance.  Any ideas why this micro-stuttering (or animation pausing) is happening?

      Check your video drivers if they are up to date, disable v-sync in the game both in the nvidia panel and in the .ini, if none of this improves, try to download rivatuner or msi afterburner to change the voltage of your GPU a little.

      Good suggestions, all of them.  I have also done all of them!  I have undervolted using Throttlestop, I have overclocked, in fact, I have been working on this for the last several months.  It's not that the game is unplayable, it's just irritating.  In my current playthrough (a new game) I am running around 70 fps on the average, but the graph showing performance is very ragged, quick drops and increases in fps.  Just cannot figure it out.  Temps on both the GPU and CPU are under 80 degrees (I play on a laptop).  Thank you for the suggestions.  I just think that MSI has placed a cap on temp and the CPU is thermal throttling when it gets around 80 degrees and I cannot figure out a way to change that as MSI has made it impossible to do much overclocking on this machine.  :(
