It clearly does work for most (some?) people as there are youtube videos of it working. It's quite sensitive to load order and stuff so people who don;t bother checking their load orders properly will have issues. There's also a possibility I fucked something up in a more recent update, as it definitely works fine on my machine
Hi, you don't need to use this mod if you want to invade the institute. There is already an option in AR2. Here the mod would better fit on a minutemen run/build. i don't know about the brotherhood of steel tho, i only saw a video of the outcome of the takeover with the minutemen.
How do I start the Brotherhood of Steel side of this mod? Do I go talk to Maxson after completing the railroad destruction quest or do I go talk to Maxson after booting up Liberty Prime?
Great mod, I like this way better than the Vanilla endings. Is there a way to re-enable the telepoter? I like zipping around the commonwealth in a great blue flash of light
I'm a bit confused. I'm right now getting the title of Director of the Institute. And it seams the quest to conquest the institute start after the institute attack the castle. So, as a director of the institute it makes no sense to order such an attack.
I figured what the issue is to get this mod working. I put the cc setstage dommq302mintakeover 100 to get the quest started and after I blew a hole into the institute I put the cc setstage dommq302mintakeover 1000 in to talk to Dr, Li and left then returned and the minutemen were all over the place. I hope it helps
I'm glad that worked for your but it does mean you just skipped over the actual mod lol so I'm still wondering why it works for some people and not others
Haven't checked it out yet but finally this is a mod. I always felt that it was so dumb for the Brotherhood to destroy all that extremely valuable technology instead of securing it, especially when that's kind of their thing.
Hi! I think your mod somehow changes a vanilla feature? X6-88 is supposed to not show up during the battle inside institute when previously dismissed to a settlement. This is how vanilla game works, but I think this mod forces him to show up in the institute which makes killing him a must?
The wiki suggests x6-88 should stay in a settlement if dismissed before the quest starts, and to test that I actually started from an early save to go through the og nuclear option, and x6-88 indeed did not show up during the battle but this is not hard to fix, I just resurrected him with console command and now I can take him with me.
However, there is another problem. All the proctors won't talk to me after I completed the main story, so I can't turn in technical documents or viable blood samples. There are no dialogue options pop up. I am aware this is a vanilla feature that we won't be able to talk to the proctors from the start of the nuclear option to the end of the new dawn nuclear option, basically near the end of the main story. Since this mod edits the quest, the stage of the nuclear option is permanently at 300 iirc. I tried setstage and completequest but with no success. Do you have a way to solve this issue so I can speak to them again?
oh yeah reading comprehension hard on my end apparently - still, I don't plan to change the x688 behaviour. You are not the first person to report the proctor thing, so I will look into it and hopefully fix it for the future. I'll have a look and see if there's any sequence of console commands that looks like it might work for you while I'm making the changes.
Yea don't worry about x6-88 if you don't wanna bother it's no big deal. And much appreciated you can look into these issues! If you find any commands that might work I'd be glad to test them out. Absolutely great mod!!
I see the last update was January 2024 - does this mean it may not work with the Next Gen patch from Bethesda? Also, how hard is the requirement to install before MM Defend the Castle? I only just discovered this mod and Institute is the one main quest line I haven't started.
I haven't tested it with the new gen update. Nothing in the description of the next-gen updates suggests that it will cause errors but I can't be sure.
