I have issue with Charlie, after I have sent them to settlement.
She wont stay assigned to any other work than food harvesting, especially with schooldesk. Kat from Kat & Gus mod, do not have this problem. I was wondering what her settings could cause this, so I could fix it with F4edit.
I haven't tried this mod yet, but in the vanilla game, children are not commandable and only farm. To make them commandable, use Vilance's Settler Command Bell. I'm guessing it will also work on Charlie.
The only reason that children can even farm is that they have the animations for young Mr. Warwick, those two kids near Vault 95, and the Nordhagen kid. To fix that you'd have to literally add the animations to the child behavior pool.
Always have been and I yet remain a great fan of these mods. I do want to recommend to those mergers combining the Recruit mods the merged plugin go under the Unofficial patch if it includes the No Vanilla Encounter version of this one.
Clinton and Charlie both, including many other of these mods (Recruit X random event character to your settlement) have no heads using the X-Cell. Is there a workaround for these mods? I want to use both, thanks.
So, is this supposed to be installed before you encounter them? I found them, saved and exit, installed the mod and loaded the game. I get the quest to recruit them, but no dialogue. Just 'huh' and 'hey'
Edit: Should also ask if its compatible with dialogue overhaul mods. I noticed in the example videos in the description that it was vanilla dialogue choices. XD
Check the Q-marker. It's not the Vanilla versions that are recruitable, the mods places additional versions of them in a specific spot for you to find. They will be there until recruited, unless something bugs out and you're to close when you installed the Mod so they can't spawn in.
I love this! Thank you! Because I read the comments, I sent these two to Red Rocket, where they've settled in well. As discussed by others, no matter what I've tried, I can't permanently assign Charlie to anything (not to crops, not to the school desk mod I'm using, nothing), but that's OK, since all I really wanted was to give her and Clinton a safe home. I also sent Kat and Gus to Red Rocket, and now they're essentially a “found family.”
I would like to complain about a bug. I have sent Clinton and Charlie to Sanctuary and assigned them to farming. While Clinton works perfectly, Charlie unassigned herself, wandered off to the Red Rocket, and refuses to go back and do anything. Is there any way to fix this? Besides, at the RR I can't assign Charlie to any job. Every time I get her back to Sanctuary, she goes back to RR immediately.
Same. I sent them to Abernathy Farm, but she wandered over to Red Rocket and became a permanent resident there. I live in hope that one day she'll realize what a mistake that was, since Red Rocket is undeveloped and always will be on this run - no water, no food, no bed and no defense. I stripped it long ago to build Vault 88. I never go there, I won't defend it. Guess she's destined to be Super Mutant chow.
I had the same problem with Charlie leaving Sanctuary and showing up at Red Rocket. So I built a bell at Sancuary to summon all settlers. When I rang it Charlie showed up with the rest on the settlers. I fast traveled to Red Rocket and Charlie was not there. Problem solved. Now when ever I find her at Red Rcoket I simply fast travel to Sancuary and ring the bell.

I have the same issue, can't interact with them at all. I came here hoping to find a fix but don't see one. Looks like I'm going to enslave them & send them "home" where then they can be assigned tasks. I have lots of slaves that lead a normal settlement life, working as farmers or vendors & relaxing with slot machines, weightlifting machines & pommel horses. There are also "busy" work benches & mats such as drink coffee, read paper, lean on wall etc. Each slave gets new clothes (children get 'lil'Tykes armor a lot or Desdemona fatigues or Kellogg's outfit which are very popular). Everybody gets 2 legendary weapons I make, a pistol & rifle or big gun with 5k or 20K rounds respectively plus 100 grenades, a variety of food, beverages & drugs. Also kids get Christmas teddy bears & toys. Their settlements also have pick-me-ups & kids can smoke. Just don't know what else to do.
@Kanealpha ok so if I do send them both to Red Rocket Truck Stop (outside of Sanctuary) they will both go there no problem? Because that's exactly where I want to send them both. They both will show up there?
Charlie somehow always goes to Red Rocket, no matter where i send them both. Even if i recruit her as follower (with mods) she ignores that and goes to RR.
