If only there were a way to change jamming chance based on different crafted gun mods. Or a brand new "mod" called maintenance. Would feel so satisfying to fix up an old gun you just looted.
EDIT: My bad this mod actually does exactly this. You can customize jamming chance based on gun mods. This is brilliant.
Okay. Okay. Immersion? I will leave you to it. In that case just bring back FO3's mashing the same weapon together to make the gun condition pristine. Although that would require a new perk on the Perk tree.
@jahincatalan hell yeah, who would ever want to bring back the best game mechanics from the series, right? Its about shooting and bruh'ing all day long. The most important thing in life anyway is to be pumped, jacked, ripped, schwagged. That way you can stunt on 'em, stack 'em bricks! Pop Pop Glocc glocc na'msayin
You want perfectly functioning weapons, 200 years after a nuclear holocaust? That goes against logic. But hey since you wanna bring up far cry 2. I bet you're the kind of tacti-cool military guy who makes mil-sim girls with modern warfare weapons :)
Dude, I hate the immersion nuts, and the gun-snobs myself. But you can have both something immersive, and a gameplay-focused mechanic.
Along with Burst-Fire Framework, Jam Framework is also a mechanic I use in my main mod Weapons Overhaul Redux, I simply thought to share if people might find use for it as well. Weapon unreliability is a good deterrent and drawback to prompt players to use something better. That is why Jamming was introduced with Dirty Rounds and Pipe-Gun.
So, I think it was less so "jamming the weapon together" and more so utilizing parts from similar weapons to repair the weapon you wanted. They didn't have the budget to make a good repair system but I believe that was the way it was intended for use.
It's a good mod idea t6m, keep it up! Personally i hate comments like from jahincatalan, no one is forcing you to use these mods. Asking if someone actually wants a free mod is probably the most entitled and stupid thing to say.
Some people, like yourself, enjoy big jiggly boobs and exaggerated oiled butts in their Post Nuclear Fantasies. Others enjoy weapon jamming mechanics, however setting-inappropriate it may seem.
To answer the original question? Yes. Weapon jamming is literally the only balancing mechanic in a world with Revolvers, Levers and mag fed weapons. Without it, there is no point to really having the former in your game - just play it like Tarkov and be done with it.
Fallout isn't Tarkov though - if you have a mag fed weapon in 2278 you probably have to make your own mag springs. Show of hands of those that actually can do that in real life today?......
Tbh this Weapon Jam mod, combined with your Weapon Degradation mod, would provide excellent immersion. The lower the condition of your weapon, the more likely it is to jam.
What's the recommended LO spot? I'm On xbox but don't let that complicated anyone's answer, just curious because I'm having CTDS with this mod and can't figure out why .-.
The only weapons that just won't work with this mod are the ones from the "Combined Arms" and "Combined Arms Expansion". I've done 4 tests, all firing over a thousand rounds per test. Nothing, and they should be jamming after about 350 at the absolute max. And of course i made sure to test the weapons that the keyword works on during the same tests, all is fine.
oh no, please don't misunderstand. I have already incorporated that very fact into my game where they are "End Game weapons" because of it :) thank you again for this very smart and easy to patch take on weapon jamming mechanics. Its wonderful.
Awesome, and almost a little amazing that it has not hit my performance in any noticeable way despite that.. Can't be every npc, right? Has to be companions and player only. I've got quite a few npcs spwaning, most using weapons that i have patched in, and i can't notice a different in fps will have to put that to the test
I was testing based on my mod that adds weapons to raider level lists and fighting raiders and I saw them reloading alot more often then they should so yeah it must effect them
This is painting a hilarious picture in my head of comical gunfights with everybody going "SHIIIIT" every now and then while trying to fix their jammed guns! x'D
It's like nobody can fire 'cause their guns are too crappy, so they just throw them at each other.
Not necessarily, no. It's just a bit of script on the MGEF, so long as you can reference it, and it's a matter of using an ENCH of your own. You can break apart the BA2 if you want to get the script and upload it on your own.

Weapon maintenance is great for games with hardcore functions, as it adds immersion to a game.
You fucking....

I excluded it, just as the burst-fire force-idle is not working with vats.

will have to put that to the test
