this mod is amazing, it's exactly what i've been looking for days, i just wish the walking speed was faster as i find it more immersive to walk than to run around the city but not slow like i'm parading
Did you use the starting command 'player.setav speedmult 110'? That will increase your walking speed, I'm fond of walking too so I was adamant to find a way haha, strangely, you can't just adjust the values in fO4edit as far as I could see
Just like setting any SPECIAL stats with the console, using this command sets the player's "real" base walking percentage to 110% (default value is of course 100). Anything that further acts on speed will do its math on the new baseline; so frex a piece of Sprinter's armor will now make you 121 speed (110 base speed + 10 percent of it) instead of how in vanilla it makes you 110 speed (100 base speed + 10 percent of it).
If you want a way to alter your speed that doesn't depend on using the console for every game or adding to your startup commands, needs the console again if you want to stop it for whatever reason, etc., you can do stuff like, have say the Wedding Ring set you to 110 (or even just give it the Sprinter's affix, the effect does stack). That way you can enable/disable the plugin, remove the ring mid-playthrough if desired, etc.
You could even make a new item, call it anything, give it NO slot assignment, and equip/remove that at will.
Also, if you ever lose track of "did it work? Did i alter this guy yet? Is anything else affecting me right now???" you can use the console command player.getav speedmult and the console will spit out the current value =)
And if you don't want to change the "baseline" speed that everything else will multiply, you can use player.modav speedmult 10to boost your speed 10 percent. modify instead of set acts like a temporary, non-baseline effect, so just like using a chem or wearing Sprinter's gear. The game will still consider your base speed to be 100, if that ever comes up. Some people might care, most probably won't need to, but it's an option.
Lastly, as noted, this is your baseline character value for speed so if you setav, ALL movement - walking, sprinting, jogging, melee combat - will all be faster. And at higher values, your character will start to use the "jogging" animations even when they're walking,. which looks.... odd. If you boost things too much and get Weird s#*!, just setav back to 100, verify everything's cool, and start over :)
Thank you for such a detailed explanation! It will definitely help others to understand F4's mechanics around movement! It definitely gave me some pointers for sure!
The player.setav speedmult 110 is for those who also want a faster walking speed, I actually built the mod around this variable so that it doesn't have those odd animations when you're walking! It's not absolutely necessary to have it, but you may/may not find the speeds a little slow, I tried with speed at both 100 and 110, and they're both fine.
Although I play with the SKK mod with ferals replacing ALL humans. So I kind of like my extra 10% speed when things get bad haha!
Any word on a Raw Input patch? The person that originally said they were going to upload it hasn't as far as I can see. Would love to try this, but frankly raw input is more important.
Just what I was looking for. Always hated the absurd speed of the movement especially the speed of NPC's not matching with the player's speed. This is a thousand times better than jumping and running around while in combat.
If you open this mod in FO4edit, there is an option to reduce speed while ADS, I can't remember the exact name as I've not played with FO4edit for a while, but I remember it's pretty obvious what option changes it!
Anyway to force your character to continue walking while using ADS when firing a bolt action gun in 3rd person? After firing one bullet while using ADS, your character will run forward then go back to walking speed. It only does this in 3rd person. No problems in first person.
So this mods slow you down? I'm trying to find a mod when you draw a gun the movement speed becomes faster because don't know why but i'm very slow when drawing a gun

Thanks again spacefiddle!
I guess you've never heard of Quake players.
cause for some reason my save got bugged and my walking speed with weapons dropped a lot, running is normal, but walking is suuuper slow
100 is default speed so adjust accordingly
