Cannonballs were basically only made from cast iron. In rare cases, lead. I know that all we have is steel in FO4, so this is ok. However, I'd make 2 recipes, one for steel and the other for lead because you absolutely can't smelt those together for anything worth a damn. Also, replace the adhesive with asbestos or fiberglass for the casting process.
I'd like to point out the utter absurdity of Far Harbor finally introducing a craftable ammunition... and it's a friggin bowling ball. A bowling ball for a modified fat man which is basically a broadsider. It's just weird to me.
Uh, Hellooo, there is a bowling alley in game. Throw in a recipe that calls for bowling balls, cause those are ready to go! (They are at the Galleria...)
i see the logic in the recipe since the middle is a long piece of metal while the each side is made of two pieces of metal and it is all held together with the adhesive/glue and the lead replaces the gunpowder which means it is more heavy which means more firepower
I can see it. Hell, I can see it having the same components as the Baseball Grenade, assuming you replace the Baseball with cloth. My logic is that you are making more then just the steel ball, but the black powder charge to go with it as well.
lol there is no reason for the glue. the lead and steel i can see. all you have to do to make a cannonball is melt the right weight of steel/lead for the type of cannonball you are trying to make, then modify with explosives or whatever.
Awesome, I was hoping that somebody would make a craftable cannonball mod, my friends were telling me how rare these are in the default game and this makes the gun actually viable for a playstyle; Thanks!
