Fallout Faces 2.0 comes with 26 new replacements and 10 updates (there are now 73 replacers in total). I tried to give the faces more of a story and put less emphasis on embellishment. It was also more important to me to reduce the discrepancy between some faces and their vanilla voice. But since I always tend to make super models out of women, it's just an attempt. The German names should now all be eliminated (at least I hope so) and please remember to read the installation instructions carefully.
Have fun with the replacements and all the best, LK :)
For all VR users: If there is a CtD at startup after installing this mod, you can find a solution to this problem in the following post by Gawdzila.
FIXED!!
It was actually a missing master, but not because I hadn't downloaded it or hadn't enabled it, but rather because Bethesda neglects the VR version.
To elaborate, the Femshepping hair mod specifically has a plugin version in the file header of 1.00, but the version of the game that VR is stuck on (1.2.72 I believe) only supports v0.95. Because that plugin has a higher version number, the .exe simply silently refuses to load the plugin, and then this mod gets stuck with a missing master.
I fixed it by just manually changing the file header version in FO4Edit. We will see if this fix has any ill effect. There are a great many mods, even new ones, that are still 0.95; it is possible that the the femshepping mod header version just got added automatically by the CK and the plugin doesn't actually use the different FormID space in 1.00. It's also possible that it does and weird stuff will happen -- but all the hair seems to load into LooksMenu just fine in my non-VR install (which also is on an old version to be in sync with my VR game), so that seems like a good sign.
TL;DR: KSHairsFemsheppingRadbeetle.esp will not load in VR (or in any version of the game before 1.10.162, I believe), and attempting to load this mod subsequently will cause a crash on launch due to the missing master. This can be fixed by changing the version in the file header of KSHairsFemsheppingRadbeetle.esp from 1.000000 to 0.950000 in FO4Edit, or by using this mod to remove version checking: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42497.
I cannot guarantee that mods loaded this way will work properly, but they will at least load.
dwarvenqueen brought to my attention that there are incompatibilities between Realistic Facial Proportions and Fallout Faces. If you do not want to do without Realistic Facial Proportions, then please use the "balanced" versions of the mod. Otherwise the replacers may be deformed. Thanks again to dwarvenqueen for pointing this out.
Revan410 pointed out to me that there is an incompatibility with the StoryWelath collection, as some NPC's from the overhaul are overwritten again.
Hey guys, I found a problem:Any NPC that I had previously changed, does not change to the default of this mod. I even went to old saves and saved the vanilla faces of the NPCs in question - Marci; Mama; Desdemona; Anny; Lee; Anyway... I restored the vanilla faces in the current save, reinstalled the mod... but still, these NPCs are not changed by the mod.Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve it? My English is not the best, but I think I managed to communicate.
hi there, sorry english is not my native language.. very nice mod ;D i have all the requerim. but checking the AIO mod, i have those messages from fo4edit, and i really dont know if this is normal:
Hi, have you installed the FOMOD or the Merge esp? I have to admit that I'm not reliable with testing at the moment, as the mods in my Fallout haven't been updated in a year.
EXCELLENT MOD! You kept the vibe/soul of the original while enhancing it in an effective way so thanks for your work
The only problem is that I'm getting some strange issues with some of the faces even though I followed the instructions to a T, getting all the patches for HFR
Like Marcy Long's face, it seems to be fusing between the vanilla and the replacer:
Or Irma (from your FOL Replacer):
Weirdly, some of the NPCs have the inverse problem! Piper's head is slightly *brighter* than her body, all using cridowskins and the recommended mods from the description:
Also strange is that most of the NPCs are fine like Preston, Doctor Amari, etc.
Sorry for the late reply. To start with Piper: Please try using The Nordic Bombshell - Fallout Edition - CBBE Bodyslide Preset (just for testing) and see if the head is still too big for the body. I would be very interested in your answer. Otherwise, I'm glad to see that Piper's face is exactly the same as in my game. Irma and Marcy: Yes, I remember something like that from the time when I didn't use my own replacers, but others. The reason was always some other mod that interfered and prevented the game from correctly mapping the plugin's information. The thought of the time it would take to find such a troublemaker would make me want to run away. I always tried FO4Edit and the conflict search. Unfortunately I can't tell you any more at the moment, but I hope you have better luck than me in this case.
Hey, no worries thanks for spending your time to make such high quality mods for FO4! To provide an update, I was running into too many issues with the next-gen update so I ended up just nuking everything and starting from scratch after downgrading.
Sorry, after a year break, I've only been busy with Skyrim modding in the last few weeks and neglected Fallout. If you don't want Preston, the easiest solution is to use the FOMOD and not click on him. I also use the FOMOD version.
I encountered a problem i never had before, only two people in vault 81 (dr.penske, tina de luca - literally the only two people in the game with the bug), have an old wrinkly brown face. maybe it has something to do with this mod, since i dont use any other facial "overhaul" mod.
or maybe it is a problem with HiPoly Faces REDUX https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/58950 no, it's not.
or Valkyre Face texture https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3841?tab=files it's not Valkyre Face, i use alternate Face texture now, but it is still the same.
edit: so i accidentally stumbled across this mod Tina De Luca and Doctor Penske FACE FIX that fixed the problem for me. Just in case if someone having the same bug and no idea what caused it.
I've been having this issue and I'm not sure what is causing it. Some NPC's have it and others don't but the Bottom Lip of certain NPC's is white for some reason. I'm having the same issue on my Piper using your Piper mod but I noticed Arturo has it aswell. Any idea?
Hi, You know, just when you think you've heard it all before, something new always comes along. A white lower lip, unbelievable (and of course annoying). I can't really give you any good advice on this. I myself would reinstall the skin texture and, if you are using any lip mod, I would not use it.
I've done some reinstalling of the skin texture I do have a mod called Toothpick Mouth Morph Fix, I'll try it and see if that might be causing some issues. I'll update you. Thanks for replying so fast.
Here's a picture for a bit of reference
I've also noticed the lips of other characters are a bright red as well.
I really never stop learning. I've never seen anything like it. Since the game cannot assign the texture, some mod must prevent this. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you in your search for the troublemaker.
I've done a lot of troubleshooting and I haven't figured out what could be causing it. I'm going to make an educated guess and say that a mod I have is reassigning a lipstick color to a number that had a previous lipstick color on it. I've deactivated the mod and double checked and noticed a few other NPC's not affected by your mod have the issue. I'll keep looking into it but for the most part I'm pretty dumbfounded.
Hi, It's incredible what happens in our games. So the neck is definitely longer. Unfortunately, I can't tell you why this is the case for you, only that I haven't changed the neck of my Sturges preset. As for the texture resolution, I've tried both. Hipoly with Cridowskin 1K worked well. In the meantime, however, I have Natural 2K Faces active again. The BSA version suits my game quite well.
I am using all the recommended and required mods you listed, followed all your instructions, but unfortunately have very apparent neck seams and mismatching face and body skin texture/color. For females only, males are fine.
Any idea why? Is this intended? Thank you for the awesome mod anyways
I'm sorry to read that. Unfortunately, texture problems occur again and again (especially in Fallout). You can try a different skin texture (for testing purposes). Unfortunately, you will only get the result shown in the screenshots with Cridow Skin.
Well I'm still not 100% sure but I was using the ba2 version of natural 2k faces. Once I removed that and used the cridowskin 1k face option without natural faces installed, the face and body now match with your mod face changes. Although the neck seams are still there but far less apparent. I know that even using cridowskin on it's own there are big neck seams so I suppose it's unavoidable for npcs to have zero neckseam at all.
Also I was using CBBE Reduced which may have played a part?
Either way I'm satisfied with this result and can now play the game again!
I hope you have fun. I think the fact that the head and body sometimes have a seam also has to do with the special features of the game and the body replacements. As long as there are no texture differences, it doesn't really bother me either.
Great mod thank you! My only request is for a version that doesn't use high-poly faces. I am afraid to mess up that part of my modlist since I just got back from the rusty/brown face bug from using 2k face textures
Hi, first of all thank you :) By the way, you don't have to use 2K textures for this mod. If you use Cridowskin, just activate the 1K option in FOMOD. However, Cridowskin is necessary for the faces to look exactly like on the screenshots.
The low poly version is doable, but with over 80 replacements it is a lot of work. I'll have to think about it again.
Great mod, it was an interesting remake of the NPCs. The only ones I prefer like the original would be Preston and Sturges, the original look has its charm.
