I would like to second this motion. If I could replace the vanilla AR with just the G3, that would be awesome because of how closely the R91 AR from previous games resembles the G3.
That would be nice, and I may do it at some point (tbh I am playing around with WARs as some of those guns are nice). The issue from my end is I manually have to make every possible combination and ATM I have little free time
so, wait a second... you replaced the vanilla assault rifle with multiple gun mods? is it any significantly different from the replacer guides? this works well for you?
Unlike the replacer guides this does not actually replace the vanilla rifles but rather the level lists.
As I was making my earlier mods I noticed that most weapons had several lists all of which contained the same weapon (presumably with different mods), this replaces the same weapon with different mods with multiple weapons.
As to how well it works the images shown display the effected level lists being targeted to a single container, they all work.
How this will play over a 100 hour+ game I cannot say.
so, if we got a mesh replacer for the vanillla rifle there is a chance it will appear along the mod guns? or will it never pop up with exception to any that already exist at the start of the game?
If this is loaded after any mod which edits the load order the original assault rifle will never appear.
Now if there is a mod which adds a new level list using the original assault rifle (which is bad practice, the correct thing to do would be to link to the original assault rifle levelled item not to create a new one as it would be compatible with this) then you would see the OG gun, I know of no such mod however.+

You can have that also appear if you want, just put the vanilla rifle ID in the list. In other words, say you wanted to have two versions of the Thompson SMG in your game - the in-game modeled one and the M1928 model (yes, they are different). You could do that if you want (along with a whole host of other SMG's as options too). In fact I do this with the Lever Action Rifle, I don't just outright replace it because it's essentially the closest thing you'll see to a Marlin 336 in the game - as there are no Marlin mods - only Winchester mods.
