Amazing work. Normally I use FiddleFlaps blueprints but couldn't find one for Somerville Place so I tried yours and was not disappointed. Your Blueprint is very lore-friendly. You put a lot of attention into the smallest of details. As I was walking around the settlement, I noticed that the pathway curved with the landscape and I thought to myself how much work must have gone into matching the angle of the walkway to the slope of the ground. Your blueprints are now on my radar and I will now be seeking them as a possible replacement for others I have used. Just a note, for some reason two beds in the original house didn't want to nuke: but, that was remedied with the console command "disable". Other than that, excellent work and I can see that you put a lot of time and effort into this blueprint.
Simply amazing work. Just watched this load in and had to exit and come here to say thanks. Anytime I have tried to build here (admittedly with about 1/4 your creativity) it has ended up an unholy mess of stairs and platforms, but somehow you've avoided that and made a really cohesive mini town.
Thank you. I used platforms literally everywhere. I'm just really good at hiding them. If you have been using my previous builds, you would notice I used several technics that I haven't used extensively before. I added a lot more trees to fill in the empty spaces and the walkway with fences to limit where you can go and force you to walk a predetermined pass. Together they made you feel that the settlement is smaller, less empty than it really is, and the layout made sense. Without the walkway and fences, you would see the settlement is a mess.
I just loaded it in. Looks very good. I use CRP (Commonwealth Reclamation Project) and A Forest for a dense woodland look, plus Clean and Simple Somerville to clear some of the CRP grass. I'll send some pics when I figure out how to do it.
Glad you like it. I wanted this to be a "Village in the wood" which is why I added a ton more trees to the settlement. I would love to see your pics, please do sent them. You can click on the "Images" tab and right below is the "Add your images" button.
What you call a bit of a mess is what I call a masterpiece. I tried to use pre-fabs with piers and pillars, and even with bases, they won't plat into the landscape. The place looks really amazing after I imported your layout. I use a light-up sign mod, so it really looks good at night. Nice little place you made.
Thank you. I built the place with the Brighter settlement lights mod on so maybe you can give it a try, I think it would look much better with the mod.
Greetings to you author ! Thank you so much for your work. As I understand you , it is difficult and long to sculpt a village , using simple game methods . I do this myself , but you get tired and the ideas are not endless . I really like it, thank you.
Thank you for commenting. You are right. Sculpting a village in this settlement is a long, tedious process, especially with the walkway even with Place Everywhere's help. Ideas are not endless because you only have so many pieces in the vanilla game. I reuse many structure designs from my previous build and tried my best to keep them not looking repetitive by changing the furniture layout and such. I also tried to keep my settlements look "scrappy" to make sense and match the feel of the world of Fallout but still look clean like someone is living there. All of that without sacrificing the basic functions of a settlement and practically in terms of gameplay mechanics.
I'm glad you like it. But to be honest, I don't want to do this kind of walkway again, well maybe not the entire settlement like this. I spent half of the time building this place on that walkway( 10 days), it took a lot of precise rotating of all the Railing, Fence and Shack Bridge pieces to get it right.
