Sailboat Abode - A Fast Travel Ship
Sailboat Abode turns a sailboat into a player home and interior settlement. With the boat you can fast travel to various predefined destinations in the Commonwealt, Far Harbor and Nuka-World. The latest version of the mod supports 40 destinations.
The Point Lookout extension provides another 5 destinations.
LOCATION
Visit Far Harbor to start the quest and find the ship.
LAYOUT
Entrance area houses the weapons workbench, the power armor station and a magnetic power armor stand. The companionway is removable to provide enough room to use the Power Armor station. The power armor stand allows the power armor to be rotated for easier entry. Under the floor plank is the shipp’s battery bank (and workshop).
Midships is the large saloon with lounge suite, open galley and navigation desk. The half-open hatch can be fully opened and closed (when closed rad storm particles stay outside). The radio in the bookcase can receive different stations (turn on and activate again). The chemical station is stowed in the bookcase and can be set up on the dining table. The cooking station is stowed in the galley. The engine room with the ship's engine and generator is located in the bilge under the saloon.
The main switch and switch panels are located at the navigation desk. The main switch requires a key (hidden somewhere in the ship). The cabin lighting throughout the ship can be switched on at the switch panel; the cabins also have individual light switches.
The interior lighting and the navigation system require power from the ship's batteries or generator. When the ship's generator is running, the batteries are charged at the same time. The battery charge and the filling level of the water tanks can be read out from the instruments at the navigation desk (and in the bedroom).
The navigation desk also hosts the ship‘s radio. The ship’s radio lets you contact any player owned settlement and access their workshops.
The guest cabins, bathroom and the master cabin are in the foreship.
The guest cabins have two berths. The armor workbench is stowed under the starboard guest berth. The armor racks (male and/or female) are housed in the port guest cabin. The ship‘s water tanks are under the guest cabins and the watermaker is located under the port berth.
The bathroom has a double sink, shower and toilet. The showerhead and toilet are scrappable and can be swapped out for working furniture (e.g. CWSS or BYOP). To use the sinks and the shower (any working shower furniture) you need to have enough water in the ship's water tanks. To fill the tanks run the watermaker.
The master bedroom has a double bed and various handcrafted wardrobes. The sliding doors between the cabins double as bulkheads. The master bedroom door and entrance/saloon door can also be used to lock all other bulkhead doors (close and activate again).
The ship's cabin layout and furniture is handcrafted and cannot be altered or removed. The same applies to the various handmade containers (e.g. kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, food and beverage containers, gun cabinets, ammunition cabinet, armor cabinets, wardrobes, perk magazine containers, holotape containers, bobblehead stands, bathroom mirrors). All other standard containers in the cabinets as well as all decorative items or consumables are scrappable, allowing you to scrap and decorate the interior as you like.
NAVIGATION
Turn on the navigation computer to power up the navigation screen. Activate the navigation screen to open the navigation menu. Choose your destination. This will start the ship's engine. Leave the ship while the engine is running (the engine will stop after half a minute).
FOLLOWERS
The ship is fully navmeshed for follower support. The furniture works for followers too. Followers (standard companions) will move in and out when you enter or exit the ship.
