When it comes to a lot of the mods that I have posted photos of, some of them are and some of them are not things that I have made into mods. It all depends on what the object is. If it is a weapon or settlement object that is 40K based, then I probably made it. If it is a full PA set, then odds are I commissioned it to be made. if it is a Robot or critter/creature, then it is 100% a commission. I have made PA and normal helmets, back packs, chest plates and shoulders, but I have issues with getting the arms and legs to line up, so when I need that kind of stuff done, I commission it to be done.
I don't release a lot of the stuff that I make, because most of the assets that are used to make the vast majority of the stuff I have are all ripped assets, so they are not supposed to be shared anywhere in the first place.
So if I release something, it is because I was able to get a free model off a site like Sketchfab, and I don't have to worry about getting kicked or banned from the Nexus for it.
People don't even think about stuff like that and just get pissed at me because "I won't share my toys", well people also need to realize that mod makers do not owe them anything, and if and when they release something, they are doing it because they are choosing to be nice. There are far too many people out there who feel that they are entitled to what ever someone makes, and they are not. My suggestion to people who want stuff, either commission it to be made or learn how to make mods yourself. Maybe then people will think twice about calling mod authors names or acting like entitled parasites.
I felt the need to post this, because I receive "hate mail" from a lot of people from here on the Nexus. Most of the messages make me laugh, but some of them are really annoying. Nothing was posted in the comments section as of this post, but I have gotten PM's from idiots about stuff like this both recently and in the past.
Again, this is not directed at any one person, but it is something that needs to be pointed out.
Wow. dude anyone who knows how to model, then go through the very confusing task of attaching it through FO4EDIT. Just troubleshoot over and over again until its right. Has stuff that they want to keep for themselves. Hell anyone who knows how to edit mods has patches that they kept to themselves, even whole mods. If you want something special learn how to do it, or commission it. Don't be a petty creature.
Pride is not what you should be feeling with such community management. This is not the kind of behavior the Warhammer community should be embracing and is only common for...no, no. I must be better, no use criticizing the Warhammer community at large. I insist upon, at the very least, less contemptuous wording, Ragnarr, make your fellow Warhammer fans happy, and if not, at least help them understand the situation, not leave frustrated and repulsed from the title's influence. Engaging in elitist behavior rather than merely reminding your potential admirers that the rights to certain models are not yours is unbecoming of upstanding members of, at the very least, the Nexus community and is rightfully discouraged by the vast majority of long-time Nexus members by its lack of use and support. You are correct that you owe us nothing and that you can simply keep everything you make on a private discord for your friends and yourself, but speaking down to those who would otherwise support you wholeheartedly is a mistake. I came here to praise you only to be berated before I even engaged with your work, and that is a shame, I hope you have risen above speaking down to this otherwise lovely community, however full of pedestrians saying often stupid things due to total lack of interest in minor reading it may be. With such a long pinned post, you could have given advice to the inexperienced and potentially brilliant future modders. I end my criticism here, I am uncertain as to whether your reception of this criticism of mine will be one of nuanced acceptance, nuanced rebuttal and clarification of your lack of seemingly malicious belittlement, or one of utter petulance. I just hope to see more from you and to see you be more inclusionary, and I say that as a massively, aggressively insensitive man who is molecularly anti-social justice and all that other soft sh*t, but a wise ignoramus at the very least. You do good work and it is a shame to besmirch your own reputation, no less with the assistance of your friends. Anyway, keep on modding, your work speaks better for you than your words on this page and those even more vile utterings your friends have further lessened your presence with.
For those curious, the original custodian mod used in these pictures is ripped from the steam workshop and was reposted onto sketchfab, (https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/adeptus-custodes-0409c669282b44bfb492bb6e134331fa) although the person who posted it falsely claims that it was "originally" created by "ReclusiamRecreations" it was actually created by Engys Epangelmatikes, commissioned by me and my brother (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2491474366)
The armor set and the spear in my photos are not from the Sketchfab set that was posted. The armor in the photo was made by Engys Epangelmatikes and I asked him if he would mind if I had it made into a PA set for myself and a few of my friends, he said it would be fine, but I would have to do it myself, or find someone else to do it. The mod has not and will not be posted publicly. The spear used in this mod is also a different one, because the meshes and the textures from the models that he made are not the same. I know about the set that you were referring to on Sketchfab, and the guy who posted it also posted several other sets that were made by Joazzz (that were from Garry's Mod too). The reason I used this spear was because it was different from the one that Engys Epangelmatikes made. So yes, I ripped the armor that I use from Garry's mod (I would never deny that it was not his Custodes), but I didn't use the one that was posted on sketchfab. I actually had the set I have made months before that sketchfab post was made. I hope that clears things up a little. I try to never share ripped assets intentionally, without asking permission first and giving credit to where I got the models.
In fact, the situation described by the author of this mod is not such a big problem. If you can't post content like this on the Nexus, why not do it elsewhere? An example of this is the mod that adds a not bad set of Imperial Guard armor mentioned here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/43900
I was only referring to stuff that I release on the Nexus. Another reason why I don't release everything I make, because I don't feel like giving out everything I make to the world. Some things I make I keep just for me.
I also have some mods that have multiple other mods as their master files and I don't have permission from those other mod makers to use stuff from their mods. So those mods I make just for myself because I don't want to bother trying to get permission to use other people's work.
I guess what I'm saying is if you see something that I have in photos that's not released odds are it's not going to get released ever, and if you want something like it you should either learn how to make things yourself, or find someone else to make it for you. I don't take requests and I don't do consignment work.
I don't mean to come across as cold, crass and uncaring but that's the way I am so that's how it comes out sometimes.
If it's not too much of a bother can you plz share the custodos armor mod? And/or similar Warhammer 40K stuff. Like that awesome dreadnought in the background.
What? That mod was made by a friend of mine. The other 40K mods are private and were made as commissions for me. I am not going to just give out stuff I have commissioned other people to make.

Just wish he'd explain the situation a bit better rather than replying to people rudely, it gives the wrong impression.
The Rolling Stones "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and the Foo Fighters "I'll Stick Around".
The chorus from both of those songs are something that some people need to let sink in. . . lol.
