ATTENTION: THIS MOD DOES NOT WORK WITH THE NEXT GEN UPDATE.
I've gotten reports of this mod causing severe stuttering and performance issues. It is not a problem with my mod in particular, it's a problem with Fallout 4's "next gen" update. It introduces a bug that screws up how npcs work. So any mod that tries to edit npcs, will cause severe performance issues... for some reason. Don't ask me how or why it works that way, this is bugthesda after all. I recommend for everyone to downgrade to the old version, not just for this mod, but in general. The next gen update is completely broken in its current state.
For anyone having issues with guns doing extremely high or extremely low damage, it's not a problem with this mod. That means you did not install true damage correctly. Please look at the instructions and download all the requirements
i am here to share as to why the mod causes stuttering as of the next gen update: any mod that overrides the NPC_records file will have the unintended side effect of forcing the overridden NPCs to have dynamic facegen enabled, the difference between normal facegen and dynamic facegen is that dynamic facegen dynamically generates an NPCs face upon loading said npc (for example: preston will have his face dynamically generated upon every time he's loaded into the game as it's basically generating his face on the fly) while normal facegen is done via a file that contains the facegen data for the NPC which is the method that Fallout 4 uses to precache faces, but because Bethesda; the dynamic generation of NPC faces is more performance heavy than having the facegen files for effected NPCs on hand and upon editing an NPCs data in the NPC_records file causes the game to use dynamic facegen on NPCs even if the facegen file is there, so, it isn't that the mod isn't compatible with the next gen update it's that the mod edits every single NPC in the NPC_records file causing every single NPC to have their face dynamically generated upon loading, a general fix for this is a mod that disables dynamic facegen or changes the default for dynamic face gen to disabled, a mod that i found that does this is X-Cell by perchik71, but as another side effect X-Call makes any NPC without a facegen file headless, which there are fixes for. so: it is 100% possible to play this mod and any other mod that edits NPCs on the nextgen update, you just need an extra mod or so to do so.
TL:DR: Bethesda accidentally made it so that an NPC with their data edited in the NPC_records file will make the game generate their face on the fly.
i don't think the mod issues is happening solely for performance problems, i reinstalled true damage twice with each step followed, some enemies just cripple your limbs almost instantly (with removal of auto regen of limbs, goodbye stimpaks) this wouldn't be the worst case though, anyone can play carefully (assuming you aren't meleeing), but turrets are literally one shotting you, its not that they deal 3 shots and boom!, half hp done, no no, they literally throw you at game over the moment a single bullet hits you
please make your faster enemies a seperate mod i do not like it and don't want to use it, especially since super mutants look weird af now. especially during their idle walk.
im having tons of fun with this + nuclear winter (+various weapon/weather/radiation/survival replacers/"enhancements" and armaments), but mirelurks are SO DANG TANKY :"(
the one grouping next to sanctuary (2 softshells) take 1 molotov each and 6-11 rounds (pending on shot placement with true damage + direct hit + Better locational damage) of 9x19 (early game problems, i know xd), while i die in 1.1-1.2 hits. im not complaining of me dieing that easy, im just amazed the lurks take so much to kill. is that intentional?
Curious if this is normal or if i have something wrong. but raiders always one shot me all the time, running HHO and True damage with Munitions. as far as i know i have all the patches and stuff but i still am getting one shot. is this just normal? if this isn't anyone know a solution?
