I would just like to take a moment and thank all of you modders out there. Your contributions are most appreciated by everyone that visits this page to make their gaming experience the best it can be! I'm sure that some of you will get snide remarks/comments from time to time, but don't let that put a damper on your modding. I think it's safe to say that most of us really do appreciate the time and effort that you folks put into your mods. I know it has made my gaming experience much more fun than I thought it could be! Keep up the great work!! Wingman1
Everyone has to start somewhere with mods and a bat file is the way some modders got their start. While many of us don't need the file, I like to see new names come into the world of modding. With proper encouragement a modder may have the courage to try and make more complex mods in the future. So before you break the golden rule of the Nexus (If you don't like a mod then pass without comment) think about what your encouraging words, or lack thereof might do. While constructive criticism and reports of file issues, request are all valid posts just commenting that a mod "suxs" or something usually is not.
Thanks for the reasonable criticism and analysis. It is an encouraging welcome to the community and I will try to do better with my next one, just haven't managed to figure FO4edit at all yet.
The edit programs are wonderful and sometimes complicated. The GECK will be out soon. While some knowledge of FO4edit will be needed especially for mod cleaning, I think some things will get easier with the GECK. There are many on the forums that are willing to help if you are willing to learn.
Thanks for the tip, I actually might start visiting the forums and lurk around to see what it's like. Definitely could use more knowledge on basics anyway. But definitely looking forward to see what all this GECK hype is about, hope it makes the job a bit more layman accessible at least.
Inverted commas is another accepted name for quotation marks. The term is not often used in American English but is acceptable still and in the rest of the world it is sometimes used regularly.
what makes this different from the coc qasmoke? is there anything here that the coc qasmoke does not have? i know theres this special sniper rifle in the loading screens that i haven't found in game yet (and no its not the fully modded hunting rifle). Is that in this room ^^?
qasmoke no, but a lot of people complain about being able to get out of that room so I added a few commands to take you to the different settlements to make it a bit more appealing. As for the rifle, just go check it out I guess, but I didn't add anything new. Just made it easier to access and leave.
Another one? I think this is the second or maybe third bat created to do this. Won't go on about how this is not needed as if anyone who plays the game comes here or reads some places else about this wondrous hidden place. They will be instantly told about qasmoke. I mean when I first heard of qasmoke in morrowind. At that same moment (a sentence right after) told me how to get to it. So when I say it is common knowledge. I don't mean everyone knows. I mean that when you find out about it. It is pretty common to get detailed instruction with that knowledge.
Still, there is that 1%. On the other hand, CONGRATS! Welcome to the modding community. The mod may not be very useful for most, it is still your first step. I hope it is not your last one. Dabble, explore, mess around and have all the fun you can. While I have gotten into big debates about modding. Modding is still one of the most common and creative ways for everyday players to express there love, hate or utter perversion for there favorite games. So Mod on my friend. Hope to see more from ya.
Thanks for the thoughts, and yeah I can see from the response that it was in fact a pretty unneeded mod in the end, I guess I just got excited by the discovery myself. But it has definitely spurned me on to do better in my next one, have a few ideas but just have to learn to use a few tools like GIMP and FO4Edit and I'll be set. Give me a couple of months and hopefully I won't disappoint you again.
No doubt, it's a super useful thing to offer here for those who don't already know about it.
The only reason people are annoyed is that the description makes it sound like you're taking credit for this new amazing Secret Room of Treasure, when if fact, you took 15 seconds to paste coc qasmoke into a text file, then another 30 minutes to post a mod that makes it look like you made this whole thing yourself.
In the words of Confucius: "He who speaks without modesty will find it difficult to make his words good."
Giving proper credit in the description will spare you some outrage, if that matters to you.
Terra1ord is correct but a successful bat file is a start to modding in my opinion. One thing this caused me to think of is to try to fast travel out of there when I could not find the console command to return to Sanctuary.
Had to think about it a bit, but yeah, I'll agree with this. This mod by itself is a bit unnecessary, really, since the coc console commands do the same thing... Same time, though, good on you for figuring out how to set up .bat files! Everybody's got to start somewhere, after all!
Thanks for the thoughts, I will try to be more imaginative in the future. Although I think that, if anything, at least this upload will inform those who didn't know this room existed, or and especially, how to get out of there which seems to be a common enough issue for some.
That's true but not everyone necessarily knows all the commands and I thought it at least makes it easier to remember/type the commands. Also there are mods that create boxes in places you have to go to get the resources avaiolable, sometimes multiple ones for different types so this at least is a place where everything is in one place. Finally, for those testing different texture mods can easily compare here without too much reorganisation.
And I'm thinking I might expand the mod, once I learn how or the GECK comes out, if I come up with any ideas or suggestions. Maybe something like commands that will fast travel you to any settlement from places where you normally can't?

Good luck to you and thank you for sharing.
... Inverted Commas...
Those are Quotation marks, or "quotes"
