Does this mean that this part of the mod isnt working?
Im on 1.10.1984 NG Fallout 4.
I read in the pinned post that this part is not very important and i can delete the dll file if i dont want it, but i want to understand what this means. Does this 100% mean that this sprint part isnt working?
Should this be loaded after Tactical Reload 1.4 and See Through Scopes? Because MTBehavior.hkx (TR), WeaponBehavior.hkx (TR) and RaiderRootBehavior.hkx (TR/STS) conflict
Yes, I use TR and STS as well as Merged RootBehavior (which takes priority for 1st person behavior files). This mod takes priority on my load order for all 6 behavior files and all 3 mods are functioning properly.
SprintSpeedController.dll ain't working in NG version 984. scanning plugin directory E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\F4SE\Plugins\ checking plugin SprintSpeedController.dll plugin SprintSpeedController.dll (00000000 00000000) no version data 0 (handle 0) Not sure how important that is for the mod to actually function.
I've been searching for years, but never found anything, thought I'd ask here in the closest mod I've seen to addressing it.
Has anyone found a mod that fixes the third person diagonal movements with weapons equipped? y'know, the ones where moving backwards and to the right, for example, will move you the opposite direction?
Easy to replicate by holding a launcher type weapon like the fat man or missile launcher, and holding S and D without letting the character go into the relaxed stance
Hey, im just a wander here and there. but i saw your problem. may i point you to this direction? I really think you may find something in this direction https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/85053?tab=files have a nice day sir!
just tried that out, and sonuvvabitch it actually worked. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, this has been an issue pestering me as a 3rd person player since the game originally released
I don't think it does. I can force this to happen by going from weapon drawn/relaxed to ADS when moving, and it'll lock into the stuck movement until you release all wasd keys. It happens primarily with rifles and assault weapons, but not with pistols for me. A jank way to bandaid it, is to use any of the mods that allow you to relax/ready via key only. If you don't allow the transition from relaxed to sighted it doesn't occur for me. That might be fixable through the behaviors, but I don't think it's addressed in this.
Thanks so much for this ini edit info. Fingers crossed that this actually fixed the problem. I just tested it and it appears to be working.
Also noticed with this fix that when strafing in 3rd person, I no longer walk in slow motion when using heavy weapons. This tends to happen mostly with the flamer and Mini Gun. I can strafe left and right for a few seconds before slowing down to a crawl when moving right.
That was one of the worst issues I had when playing 3rd person, thank you for this fix!
Edit: after testing a bit, the issue seems to happen less than before, but I was able to reproduce it nonetheless :/ (on an Xbox One controller) Something seems to happen when you try to move just after you release the aim button while standing still and the camera zooms out. I'll try to explain as best as I can!
You can get stuck if you: - release the aim button while standing still, then move forward during zoom out (you get stuck moving forward and can't strafe right) - release the aim button while standing still, then strafe right during zoom out (you get stuck strafing right and can't move forward) - release the aim button while standing still, then move backward during zoom out (you get stuck moving backward and can't strafe left IIRC) - release the aim button while standing still, then strafe left during zoom out (you get stuck strafing left and can't move backwards IIRC)
I really don't know how Bethesda programs 3rd person gameplay, but it's baffling they never officially fixed this issue... I don't remember it happening in FO3, NV or even 76, though I played those 1st person mostly because the vanilla 3rd person camera/gameplay sucks anyway.
At least with your fix, it doesn't seem to happen anymore when the character moves and lowers their weapon while moving diagonally, which was when it happened the most for me!
Whoa, you single-handedly made me like Fallout 4 again with this one comment, this was the thing that bugged me most as I almost exclusively play in 3rd person. Thanks!
I can add my experience with the bug. I think aforementioned ini tweaks have nothing to do with it, they probably will make 3rd person movement more responsive but we're talking about movement lockup due to some anim/behavior bug so they won't help because it'll still happen.
I think people who experience it most often have game setting fGunPlayerRelaxedWaitTime set to very low value like 0,1, this setting is responsible for the delay (in seconds) that happen before character goes into relaxed state after you stop aiming or firing. By default it's set to 6 which is very long and makes 3rd person gunplay feel weird, setting it to low value makes it so much better but also makes it much easier to trigger the bug because one of the ways for it to trigger is to begin movement right at the moment when PC starts transition from alarmed to relaxed state, so if you have fGunPlayerRelaxedWaitTime at the very low value and start moving right after letting go of aiming key (which occurs very often during normal gameplay) the PC will immediately put down gun and trigger the bug. It's much harder to trigger it in vanilla because for this you will need to start moving after 6 seconds which happens not that often. So at the moment setting fGunPlayerRelaxedWaitTime to 1 or 2 secs is a good compromise I think, would be cool to see it fixed tho.
OH MY GOD THAT PASTEBIN YOU POSTED FIXED AN ISSUE THAT APPARENTLY NO ONE ELSE HAS (I searched online for hours) REGARDING THE SLOWASS ANIMATION WHEN STARTING TO JOG/RUN/TURNING 180 degrees (W key and then S key). THANK YOU SO MUCH JARARI!!!!
I was only have the problem specifically when sneaking with a melee weapon out in 3rd person (might happen with a gun too, but my character doesn't have any at the moment). I am on the next-gun update. I'm using Much Better 3rd Person Animations Tactics and Melee Sneak Locomotion Animation Blending Fix (Behavior Edit). Disabled this mod and the issue went away.
My thoughts are that the other two mods do not edit xml values. This one does. Since the DLL for SprintController hasn't been updated for next-gen, that isn't even attempting to get loaded for me at the moment. So, somehow, someway, these xml edits are causing the issue.
EDIT: Disabling this mod doesn't solve the issue completely, but significantly reduces the likelihood of it happening. Currently, I can only occasionally get it to happen by rapidly tapping one direction than quickly switch and holding a different direction. In which case, sometimes the direction I ultimately end up moving is neither of the directions I input. If turn this mod back on, it triggers very easily if not constantly.
EDIT2: Finally tried the pastebin ini edits. They so far seem to do the trick. And I don't slide like InstantSeverance seems to.
I rolled back my FO4 and installed the old F4SE, but it’s still not working for me. I used it about 5 months ago and it was working perfectly. I still keep getting that annoying 3rd person FOV sprint zoom thing no matter what I try ;(

It says VR but it's actually for both Flatout and VR.
Also, don't post scanned logs (it removes all the useful info) and put the log in a spoiler tag or post it on pastebin.com.
Thanks.
On a side note, please refrain from writing random comments such as "I hate X can you fix?"
This mod is strictly for fixing the most annoying glitches in "3rd person behavior" files.
I'm gonna say it straight so don't get me wrong.
I don't care what's happening in your game unless it's happening because of me, and I don't intend on fixing every single glitches in your game.
It's kinda optional, if you don't like F4SE just delete the DLL and you should still be able to use it, but sprint speed patch won't work.
The crash was happening due to faulty values in hkbHandIkControlsModifier, I've fixed hkxpack to read and write it correctly.
Since v1.3, speedmult should be applied correctly on sprints.
Thanks.

Would love to see that fixed
Put these in your Fallout4Custom.ini
If you have Controls or Main section already then append them below that section

It's especially easy to reproduce when using shoulder grip weapons like missile launchers or the fat man and moving backwards/right
