Any recommended mods to use with this? Thanks for the mod. Having a small annoyance with asphalt pot holes rendering at a small distance about 5 meters, there is just see through hole until i get close then the parallax map sets in. is there a way to increase the distance of parallax
Yes, i always thought that the lack of parallax mapping in F4 or previous Bethesda games was such a missed opportunity, especially considering that the the function was even in F3 but only for decals such as bullet holes and the same with F4. Its great that your mod in based on vanilla textures making it just an enhancement with vanilla artstyle and feel. Also i always thought that the Shipping Crates were the best demo for parallax. These side bumps are just made for this. Btw what software did you use for this?
Thanks. I thought so too with the shipping crates, then got a bit carried away.
Materialize, Gimp, Nvidia Texture Tools, Blender when necessary.
Certain objects - like the shipping crates, big metal crates, or yellow garage cart - don't work well with parallax applied to the entire object. This is where Blender (or your modeling software of choice) comes in. You can select the faces you want parallax applied to, export that as a UV mask, and apply a heightmap so only the UV masked area has height information.
Would this work with Luxor HD https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/52423 ? I've heard that he sticks with vanilla style, but some say that their parallax mods won't work with his. Didn't know if you knew if yours would work with his.
Looks mostly vanilla styled. Technically, any parallax works with any texture. It comes down to uniformity.
So, if you don't have a problem with texture depth mismatching, you can use any parallax + texture mods. It won't break your game.
Otherwise, you'll have to go through and pick which conflicting textures win. If you really want to make sure, compare the mod's color/normal map to vanilla's. If it's close/identical, good to go.
I tried this out with Luxor's HD Overhaul, and it doesn't work too well. I didn't realize till I tried it with his, and then vanilla, that he did change some textures. Like the stones on the riverbed by Sanctuary. Though I do admit, his textures look way better than any vanilla and almost any texture pack.
hey there. person who is completely oblivious to the intricacies of modding. is this like, plug-and-play? is it completely safe basically? what kind of things might it conflict with
This mod has allowed me to finally turn on ENB Parallax and not have a number of items look weird or distorted. Not everything is perfect with ENB Parallax but this has definitely made my game look better. Thank you.
That's really unfortunate. I'm using Luxor's textures, which look great, but the lack of parallax in VR is really noticeable. Hopefully someone can make an ENB for FO4VR.

Your issue sounds like maybe low decal render distance? Aside from that, nothing comes to mind. Don't think I've had your issue before

Second, yes, just download the packed version. If you want the HD DLC associated textures, download the packed optional
