Only ONE issue i have is, they don't snap to anything... not even each other. makes it a bit of pain to place just like i want. using place everywhere is great for one , then i want snap more down to each other but having to use place everywhere for each and every one i just too time consuming.
but like i said in the first line... i really like the planters .. NICE WORK!!!! and thank you for the effort.
I must admit if snap is added, i will love this mod beacause, wow, the planters look fantastic ! but as Pinkster said... i will spend too much time on it without snap lol
The issue with adding snap points if not all crops fit in all planters. Say I wanted to add snaps to melons, I would need to make custom snap points in each planter specifically for the melon, and then add that specific snap point on the melon as well, and redo that for every single planter. One planter would need at least 3 points per plant for most planters, the smaller the crop the more snaps. I would need to add so many custom snap points on each planter there would be at least 20 per planter for all plants, very likely more around 50. That's at least a few hours per planter, per plant. Not saying I won't do it since more people have asked for it now, but if I do it, it would be awhile till it came out, and that's if I am even able to.
TLDR: It would be A LOT of work for something so simple sounding and above is the explanation why.
Back when I played 7 yrs ago the mod Homemaker had planters and they snapped to each other. They were only the long planters from Graygarden (rectangular shaped, usually on the metal stand). They snapped end-to-end directly adjacent, and side-to-side with an automatic space so settlers could get inbetween them to interact as they always interact from the side. However, I think they were placed with crops in them... not as dirt and place your own crops like the ones from this mod. But I would assume that if you still had them snap in the way Homemaker's did, then they should work regardless of what crops are placed in them.
I could possibly do something like that whenever I get back into modding. Currently I'm not doing any modding with this game, to work on my mods I would have to update my game, and updating my game would break all of the mods I play with since they haven't been updated yet. It sucks.
It doesn't appear it can be placed in The Mechanist's Lair sorry. If you want to be able to place them you could always download a full workbench mod such as this one: Home Plate - Mechanist Lair - Full Workbenches
Wow thanks for the great mod here's an idea why not make some hydroponics no settlers needed for the planters can't wait to see what other mods you come out with thank you
Glad you like the mod. I might do that idea some day, currently I'm taking a break from modding as of right now but know I will start back up sometime.
wat everyone really wants when looking for plants and planters: the plant snap into the plots! can you make this possible...not really worth dealing with it without it. some mods used to do it but have disappeared. thank you for your hard work.
Yeah I could look into doing that, no guarantee though as snap points can be a real pain to deal with.
The main issue with that is if I do that I would have to make it so only specific plants can be in specific planters, because wouldn't want a melon to snap into a small planter and float over the side.
No clue, I thought I remembered there being a planters mod on here but I looked and didn't find any so I made this. Maybe that's why I thought I remembered one.
They shouldn't conflict at all as I renamed the planters and gave them a new ID, and left the original alone. I did that so they wouldn't conflict with other mods that made changes to them. If I didn't rename them and simply made them buildable but using the base ID then it would conflict with any mod that modified the original one. So yeah if someone does download both they might have some duplicates but not any conflicts.

I would suggest people not to install both or conflicts might arise or have duplicates.
