this is the first mod i've ever made, hope you enjoy it.
now that i've figured out texture mods, my next task will be to learn quests to try reimplement some cut ones. the first one (and easiest) i'll try will be "Off The Grid", a minutemen quest right before the nuclear option. it won't be a 1:1 recreation obviously, there is no "diamond city reactor" to fight near, but the basic premise will be a defend the castle style fight against synths right after defend the castle in diamond city.
I see this is replacing the Colonial Duster entirely. Can you make a stand alone, separate version? Or direct me as to how I could do it myself and I'll give it to you. I'd imagine it's simple if you know how to do it.
i would direct you but i don't even know where to begin when it comes to making it standalone. i'd assume it'd involve creating a whole new outfit and that is way beyond what i know how to do with this game
there's a lot of things to take into account when translating said concepts into in-game assets like mesh polycount and texture resolution not leaving much room for minor details which 2D artists don't have to worry about - or in this particular case lots of hanging bits that wouldn't look very good unless you add physics to each of them (and the cloth physics implementation we ended up with is very limited at best, so it wouldn't really cut it for something like this)
Plus some early concept art isn't entirely what devs envisioned when they outlined the commision (or they later change their minds). And some is too impracticable (eg, plane catapult atop concept art's Prydwen and vertibird-endangering rigging dangling all along its underside). And some is downright stupid (eg, sole survivor entering Boston wearing a fishbowl helmet 5 times too big for his head with a massive air gap underneath). There's some pretty concept art, and it's cool to see how games develop, but I wish folk would stop assuming they're gospel, an ideal/blueprint to be matched or devs must've failed a bit. That's simply not how concept art works.

This Tutorial might help, although a bit old.

BUT I was'nt being all that skeptical the first time I played the game, I really fell in love with the game so damn much ;)
btw interesting concept
I am for vanilla style Preston though
but in the picture it looks impressive
