About this mod

SS2 City Plans for various New Liberty Trading Company themed Red Rockets around the Commonwealth. Each has a place to get some sleep, buy some supplies, and to get patched up by a doc. Plans include the Red Rockets in Quincy, Cambridge, Lexington, and Boston, and are accessed through the "Manage" option in the settlement's red workbench.

The New Liberty Trading Company
, introduced in SS2 Chapter 3, has decided to refurbish some of the Commonwealth’s Red Rockets, but dead settlers can’t spend caps, and the Gunner’s war against the commonwealth is putting a damper on business.

In an attempt to keep their customer base alive and profitable, they’ve constructed secret refugee bunkers at these Red Rocket locations where settlers fleeing the Gunners can stay until they get back on their feet.

Bunkers come equipped with all the beds, storage, and crafting stations a person might need to survive the harsh realities of a busy wasteland. Because of the workshop assets used, all DLC are required

I designed these Workshop Framework layout plans to be small and simple so my FPS wouldn't tank, but as with all things, your mileage may vary.

The plans are accessed through the "Manage" option in the settlement's red workbench, not through a city planners desk.

Each Red Rocket layout is 1 level and includes:

  • An assignable clinic and merchant marker that you can assign settlers to in workshop mode
  • An agriculture and caravan plot to keep your Rocket employees fed and connected to the rest of your settlement network
  • 2 turrets to chase off any gunner or raider lowlifes who might want to start trouble
  • Beds to house 4 settlers/employees
  • Various crafting stations

To build in these locations I used Tarsis31 and Yagisan's Red Rocket Settlements by Yagichan, which allows you to use Workshop Framework’s settlement layout import/export system. Any questions or issues about the mod's functionality would probably be better addressed on that mod's page. I haven't run into any issues using it, but once again your mileage may vary.

I also suggest you have the “Designer's Choice” and “Starting Plot Levels” set to ON in your SS2 settings so you don’t have to worry about leveling up the agriculture and caravan plots in such a small, sparse settlement. But then again, I’m not the boss of you, so you do you. 🙂 You can always turn these options off again after you've built the layout if you want.

Not all objects that should be scrapped with the “scrap all and build layout” option actually get scrapped.

This leads to some items (mostly boxes, tires, and cabinets) getting stacked on top of items placed by the city plan layout.

Manually scrapping everything inside the Red Rocket building/garage itself before building the layout should take care of most of these issues.

Required mods:
Tarsis31 and Yagisan's Red Rocket Settlements

Sim Settlements 2 - Tiny Living
Sim Settlements 2 Addon Pack Caravan Snatex
Compact Crafting - Mini Crafting Benches and Power Armor Station
Snappy HouseKit

Optional mods:
Red Rockets' Glare REDONE - Lighting (Main file)
Starlight Drive-In And Diner - Lighting (Main file, plus the counter and stool add-on)
Radioactive Signs - Lighting - Cyberpunk 2077 (All in 1 option)

While these mods are technically optional, I highly recommend them as they're pretty dang cool and create a look consistent with a commercial space that's recently been revitalized by the New Liberty Trading Company.

On the other hand, everyone has the right to have bland, boring Red Rockets if that's what they want, but I think we all deserve better than that.
