i end up not using these mods so much, i find it easier to open a tab with my adblocker browser and just go to youtube and play music of whatever i like, i just make sure it's a crazy long or almost never ending list of music of whatever genre i want to listen to.
lately i have been listening to a lot of oldies doo wap music, but you have to make sure your using as few resources as possible when doing my method, like setting the youtube videos resolution to 240p, i would do 144 but youtube tends to make the audio bad when it's that low, but i only have the one tab open while listening, and i also use a controller that i have binded one of the buttons as a play and pause so i can turn it on or off anytime in game.
anyway i'm always provided with hours on hours of never ending music and veriety, i'm almost always discovering new songs i have not heard yet an i have been doing this idea for over a year now, i first tried this in cyberpunk because at the time the game only played music while driving and i found that a bit annoying that they didn't have modified bodies that they could listen to music everywhere in that futuristic game lol, so i would listen to all kinds of synthwave, my favorite channel on youtube that makes synthwave is called nightmare owel.
Capital idea. I've used Synthwave Radio for years, but it never dawned on me to swap the in-game radios for the buildable one. I'll probably scrape all the radio worldobject names and extend the config to replace more than just the ones that play DCR.
For those wanting to play around with it, looks like there are a bunch of "dead" radios throughout the game that only play quiet white-noise (RadioStatic and RadioStaticOff). I always thought they were just an error in the game, but apparently they're intentional, so great candidates for replacement too. The others generic ones are Minutemen (RadioFreedomReceiver/RadioFreedomReceiverOff) and Institute (RadioInstituteReceiver/RadioInstituteReceiverOff). Also there's a RadioDiamondCityReceiverNew which is only used in a few places (one in Covenant and two in Vault 81) but doesn't seem these are special for quests, so could be considered generic other than the fact that they use the pre-war NIF.
