Just checked and, nope, I forgot to toggle the "Unique" flag. Even though I just recently completed updating my cut NPCs in preparation for the AiO, I've already found a few more things I want to fix. Toggling her "Unique" flag is now on the list. Thanks for the reminder, even if unintentional. ;-)
Side question, if you don't mind: Are you aware that I posted Cut Content - Brad Finnegan a couple of weeks ago? I've posted 18 cut content NPCs so far, and since Dec 4 (or Dec 6, depending on which one you look at), all of them have blown up in popularity--except for Brad, and I don't know why. If you compare his page views to the other 17 NPCs, it's as if no one knows he's available. Very strange.
maybe because he is hostile in the factory and will just be killed quickly anyway as you go through your quest? Its pretty much unavoidable to kill him. Random wastelanders on the other hand are more intertsing since they can be recuited and ( if female and unique ;) ) be made very hot via SLM presets. I have alot of hot character presets downloaded but i never get to use them since I am a dude and play as nate so... :)
Sir, I been looking at your mods and your gifted handling of NPCs. Any chnace you could make a mod which introduces proper male/female height scaling in the wasteland? In the US depedning on the source there is a ehigh difference between men and women of approx 5 or 4.5 inches. That is for average height Snce nate appears to be about 5'11 or 6'0 by the scaling of the house as are all males the heigh diff would be over 5 inches or 85 and ahlf to even 9%. Not the 2% (if that) the vanilla game uses. That is a big difference and makes the people look a bit "off".
I considered Brad's enemy status was the culprit, but Eddie, Adalia, and the two super mutants are hostile, too, and they're enjoying the same popularity boost as the friendly NPCs. The first 12 started blowing up on Dec 4, while 13-17 started taking off on Dec 6. I released Brad on Dec 8. Someone else suggested that they may have been added to a collection somewhere, possibly off site, and it hasn't updated since before Brad's release, so he wasn't included. Sounds plausible, even probable. Just wish I knew which collection.
About a year or so ago, I started collecting every preset I could find. I had this idea of replacing every duplicate settler who turned up in my settlements with a preset so that all of my settlers would have a unique appearance. That was before I discovered that presents don't work on settlers. That concept is, in part, the reason I started the "Diverse" series, though. Now, if only I can figure out how to turn a face preset into an actual replacer, I'll be able to create some truly unique NPCs for this game.
I used height scaling in my "We Have Names" series for all of the adults the series touches. The game's default scale is 1.0 for both men and women. I used a min/max scale of .90 to 1.0 for women and .95 to 1.05 for men. This is the same scaling used by "Exofied Settlers," as I use that mod and wanted things to be consistent.
That said, I do have plans for a height scaling add-on for my "Diverse" series. It won't cover every NPC in the world, but it'll cover any that draw on the face pools.
Edit: Scaling people to the structures will always look weird because the structures aren't properly scaled in the first place. If I scale the people in proportion to the Sanctuary houses, for instance, they will look off when compared to a Concord house. About the only thing that's uniform with the buildings in this game are doorways.
I plan to use the CQF WhateverherNameingame CallHer "xxx" so she can have a name. Does the game refer to her in the background as FemaleWastelander? If you aren't sure I will install it and use the Help command.
Her Full Name/Short Name entries just list her as "Wastelander," so your solution should work, provided it doesn't apply the new name to all NPCs called "Wastelander."
Thanks...you made me chuckle. FO4 is just janky enough that I could end up renaming all of them the same.
It might be moot. I may have to skip her. If your description is where I think it is, then one of the main encounters of The Unknown Explorer is right there. I recognized that hillside as one they assaulted up toward me. The have lots of big bombs and delight in blowing stuff up. Once I'm in that cell she's gonna be a goner, LOL.
Based on the screen shots from "The Unknown Explorer," I believe you're correct. She's located at the tarp and bed that's getting blown up in the one screen shot. Her "protected" flag is toggled, so technically, she would survive the explosion, but sometimes one's suspension of disbelief goes only so far.
Brad Finnegan is next, and probably the last before the AiO, but as with this female wastelander (and the Atom Cat), I may stumble upon other unused NPCs I can add. Either way, the AiO won't be ready for some time, as several of my early cut content NPCs need updates, so I have time to look around for anyone I've missed.

In other words can I change her look via SLM console command?
