The default setting is what we consider to be the best setting for Mad God Overhaul. We strongly recommend you play the game as it is, adjust resolution first, and only make changes when you are already satisfied with FPS on your device.
More than half of the Mad God Overhaul players use reprojection (or commonly called ASW/SSW for Oculus devices). Frame generation has improved significantly in the last a few years especially on higher frame rates. 60/120 is a very strong setting if you want to go this route, if you can consistently hit the low end of the FPS before it gets reprojected. If you really can't handle 60/120 reprojection, disable reprojection/ASW/SSW in Steam VR/Oculus Link/Virtual Desktop depend on which software you are using.

Installation and Starting the Game
Mandatory
Do not waste time if you are using a pirated copy of the game, Steam VR version is REQUIRED
Do not waste time if you don't have Nexus premium
You must download and install the latest Visual C++ x86 and x64 and .NET desktop
You must have 32GB system memory, internal SSD and increase virtual memory to 40GB or more
You must set shader cache to 10GB or more in Nvidia/AMD control panel
You must disable auto-save in game to avoid entry/exit crashes, do not use Quick Save ever

To report crashes, drop a crash log from Documents\My Games\Fallout 4 VR\F4SE on Discord support channel. Please update FRIK to the latest version and also install Alandtse's Memory Limit Expander, I will be updating this list later this year to include these two small mods that improve late game stability.

Updating to New Version
With the exception of major version upgrades like 2.0, I will never break a save intentionally
It is however not possible to predict save stability if you added/removed mods, or test every iteration of every save game. Review change log and make changes manually is always the safest way to update the list and keep the changes you made
You can use in front of installed mods like " Better Settlers" to keep them from being removed, however you will still need to manually put them back into load order
You will still lose sort order and personal FOMOD choices when you update, so consider making updates manually based on change logs

Gameplay
I play on survival difficulty, with no follower. Thanks to the "Unlimited Survival" mod, many tedious aspects of survival are disabled. You can save game any time and fast travel, and the extra survival elements really makes it fun
