It's an automatic .30-06 machine gun, those have some recoil. I can use it just fine with scopes if I use short bursts (how its meant to be fired anyways) but if you can't handle it Xedit is free, change out the aim model.
this is kinda a long shot but is there any chance you could move the grip connection point on the receiver nif so the mod is held properly in VR? currently its where the stock is not on the pistol grip so when used in VR with FRIK it pivots from the stock not the grip
do you have any idea why my game is CTD any time I open this gun in the weapon workbench I can spawn and equip it fine but the second I hover over it in the workbench it CTD, I'm on Fo4vr which can cause a lot of issues but I've tried changing the forumID to 800 and the version from 1.000 to 0.95 which are common weapon fixes, any idea what the issue might be?
I cant for the life of me get this mod to work, I'm playing on Fo4vr and I install munitions then the base mod then replace the ESPin the file to the vanilla rounds version, I goto the basement of shamrock, the guns there but the game crashes the second I pick it up, I've tried without the vanilla replacement and I've tried just installing the vanilla and the base mod through vortex and just loading the vanilla version after. anytime I don't use thee vanilla ESP the gun doesn't spawn.
If I install the vanilla ammo patch do I still need munitions installed? I think fo4vr has an issue with munitions and anytime i install the mod with the vanilla patch vortex says it requires the munitions esl. Is there a way to install it without munitions and if so how should I go about installing it since the base mod says it needs munitions
Is it just me or does this weapon do stupidly low damage with an insane amount of recoil when compared to other late games weapons like the handmade rifle? A fully upgraded automatic rifle only does 71 damage compared to a stock handmade rifle which does 73 with nearly none of the recoil?
Even compared to other mods released by DegenerateDak, the Bar does some of the lowest damage. The Militia Carbine (Spitfire Carbine) has a base damage (with perks) of 64, despite being .45. That's only 7 points lower than a fully upgraded automatic rifle. Worse yet, a fully upgraded militia carbine can do 112 points of damage.
Either this weapon hasn't been balanced properly or someone is taking the piss.

This gun uses heavy weapon perks, the militia carbine uses rifleman perks. the reason you think it does low damage is because you do not have the perks that up the damage of this weapon.
In Fallout New Vegas, the Automatic Rifle depends on the Gun skill, whereas numerous BAR mods on Nexus might leverage the Rifleman or Commando perks. I generally consider the Heavy Weapons category to be for larger arms like miniguns or cannons, so the BAR doesn't seem to fit the 'heavy weapon' classification. Therefore, I've placed this BAR in the same category as those from earlier games and mods.
I also lack the good fortune of understanding English well and must depend solely on text-based translations and other methods. Learn to not be such a phallic object. ❤️
The BAR was historically used and classified as a light machine gun, a middle ground between a bolt action rifle and an emplaced machine gun. It made sense given it's firepower to balance ours around the heavy weapons skill since fallout 4 lacks many heavy weapons in vanilla and especially mods. The light machine gun in NV and 76 both use heavy weapon skill/perks so it felt appropriate.
If you are unhappy with that choice it's easily changed with 30 seconds of work in xedit, which is a much better way to spend your time than complaining about it.
Also, I very much doubt your claim of being unable to read English well given the quantity and quality of writing that you do of it.
I managed to tweak the weapon values with xEdit after realizing the mod classified the BAR as a Heavy Weapon. This classification was the reason for its low damage output and my confusion, which I initially mistook for an imbalance in the weapon itself.
For individuals with limited English proficiency, Copilot (AI by Microsoft) offers not just the translation of my own posts but also those of others. However, it is not as effective with video and audio content. This explains why I couldn't find information confirming that this weapon utilizes the Heavy Weapon perk which I initially mistook for an imbalance in the weapon itself. Thanks!
Can you please fix the power armor walking animation in first person? When you normally use a weapon with power armor you have a longer time in-between foot steps, but with this BAR my character in power armor can be heard taking a lot of really fast steps as if he wasn't in power armor. Some of your other mods don't have this issue. The gun is really fun because it's so powerful but the recoil is always a problem, so it's interesting to use. If you fire in short bursts it just chops people up. I'd really appreciate if you could fix that walking animation, thank you for taking the time to read this.
maybe a daft question, but is there a particular way you are supposed to install to get the vanilla esp to work? i've tried downloading it on its own, as well as downloading the og file then disabling it.

But actually i like the idea of BAR using Heavy Gunner perk.
It does shoot the big ass .30-06 rounds in full auto .. so it does feel like something you would take to battle while wearing Power Armor.
