It's not working for me. I checked the comments reporting problems like mine on this channel, I made sure to apply their answers, but nothing was resolved. The plugin is activated, Vortex doesn't identify any problems... (Maybe it was because I added it to the mod list after I had already started a save) Is there something more to try? Change the category or anything else?
Not sure what to suggest honestly, the mod just changes 1 game setting value in the Creation Kit that governs XP gain, it should work just fine unless you have other mods that change XP in some other ways (like mods that have global XP multipliers and things like that).
Came here from another one of your mods, and honestly while I love most of your mods (especially the Concord series!), I think this one is handled more elegantly by Game Configuration Menu instead.
It's a single ESP and you can configure the experience multiplier on the fly in the MCM menu (from 0.01 to 100x), along with many other settings. I also suggest setting miscellaneous experience (like cooking, lockpicking, exploration, crafting, etc) all to 0 and enable experience only from combat and quests, but that's just my personal preference.
I'm just posting this here because reading the description it seemed you hadn't heard of GCM, so I'm putting this here for anyone else looking for a more complete, configurable mod with many settings. But this mod is probably a good choice for anyone that doesn't or can't use MCM menu.
I have heard of that mod, but I preferred to make mine to address XP in a simple one-size-fits-all approach without the use of any scripts, and without extra steps, you install it and you forget about it, for those that are like me and don't feel like customizing each source of XP gain separately. Also, the scope of both mods is substantially different, while GCM allows for a lot of additional stuff, mine just addresses XP and that's it, simple and to the point, and since mine doesn't have scripts and just edits a global variable if people feel the need to uninstall it (even though uninstalling mods is not recommended), they should still be ok to do so as the global variable will just return to its vanilla value and my mod won't leave orphaned scripts running or with references in the save that could potentially cause issues. :)
I'd been using SKK's Dynamic Damage Manager, but for whatever reason it doesn't seem to be working for me on a new save, and I haven't been able to figure out why.
I'll check this out for compatability and get back to you if there are any issues.
I've been looking all over the place for a mod that only doubles the experience obtained from killing enemies because i already have a mod that increases the experience gained from quests.
Since i did not find anything i might as well do it myself.
If you do not mind, could you tell me which value i need to look for in FO4Edit or the Creation Kit to achieve this?
Mod changes the global multiplier for XP, by default it's 1, which means vanilla XP gain. If you pick x0.5 version for example you'll get 50% less XP.
Whatever value of XP you would normally get with Intelligence and Idiot Savant XP on a given situation, the global multiplier will affect it after and that's the amount you'll end up getting.
Is anyone using this along side Life in the Ruins on survival? It so what would be a balanced multiplier. I’m finding there is not a ton of content in the newb zone that levels you enough for travelling south or east if the starting region without grinding.
im sorry there just isnt enough info on this mod i cant get it to work ive tried following the steps youve provided but there to vague please specify better how to get this to work?
If you are using a mod manager (Vortex, Mod Manager 2, or NMM), click the 'Download with Mod Manager' button in the Files tab, and it should show you an installer which gives you the XP versions to choose from. Choose the one you like and that's it.
If you are not using a mod manager... then I would suggest you first get a mod manager.
Check if the plugin shows up in Vortex as having been installed (enabled).
As for the amount of XP you are getting, it depends on which version you chose, the amount of INT your character has, as well as whether you have additional effects that affect XP gain (buffs/debuffs and other items that either modify INT further, or XP gain directly like having the 'Well Rested' effect for example, so there are several factors that apply when calculating XP). Still, to keep things simple, if you see the plugin installed and enabled after having run the installer, then the mod will be working.
Just reinstall the mod and choose a different option, the plugin will be replaced by another one with the same name as the one you had before (so the game won't complain about the missing plugin).
