For anyone curious about what the broadcast is, this is a demonstration of an eyebot from Commonwealth Broadcasting Services playing the same station:
For any mod authors interested in using this station, it is frequency 117 and exists in a fully unmodified copy of the game. It's been in Fallout 4, unused, since the game first came out in 2015. The "antenna" object broadcasting this station is at GNN, it's a little box primitive that is floating in the antenna on top of the building.
Frankly, I'd love to see authors making use of it. The station adds a fantastic sense of abandonment to the location since it implies nobody has bothered staying there for long in the 200+ years since the bombs dropped.
That said, with the loop being as short as it is I imagine it can get irritating if it's overused. I tried it out in a little project I'm experimenting with, and there's definitely a place for it:
Oh yeah, it makes for a pretty great environmental storytelling tool. I intend to use it to imply a hasty departure in conjunction with a fallen chair and spilled cup of coffee.
And yes, the length of the loop definitely warrants placement that lets the player to switch it off fairly quickly.
Dumb question Glitchfinder; would this mod be superseded by your earlier mod, which already adds this station? Or does that one not restore these particular eyebots' frequency, so by having both you'd have the vanilla ones + CBS ones? Cheers and happy holidays :)
The station itself already exists in the base game but is unused. This mod changes some pre-placed eyebots (which are trying to play a radio station that doesn't exist) so that they will instead use the unused radio station. Commonwealth Broadcasting Services adds new random encounters for eyebots playing multiple different radio stations, one of which is this one.
So the mods are related but don't actually overlap directly. If you're curious, the three eyebots this mod changes are: 1. At the pillbox across the street from Drumlin Diner. This is the same location that gets turned into a settlement by Drumlin Bunker. 2. Wandering in the area between Hub City Auto Wreckers, Lynn Pier Parking, and Longneck Lukowski's Cannery. 3. Wandering in the Glowing Sea between Skylanes Flight 1665 and O'Neill Family Manufacturing.
On the other hand, the ones that can play the broadcast from Commonwealth Broadcasting Services can be encountered at random through most of the commonwealth, at spawn points for scene-type random encounters.
This is the emergency mod upgrade broadcast system. This is not a test. A state of upgrade has been declared. Please proceed to your nearest downloading server immediately!

Love all your mods, many of which are essential to any load order I build.
