I have had Seasons change installed for a while with the snow add on enabled. No icicles. It is Dec 2 in game. There is snow on the ground. Load order is:
Seasons.esm Seasonlal Snow.esl icicles.esm
I am at Red rocket. No mods modifying that settlement. Flew to the coast and back for a cell reset. Have gone inside to do a force season change.
I had given up but saw these new comments. Turns out I DO have them, but they are super transparent. Running ENB and NAC X. Tried changing settings to see them but I don't know what I am doing. Nothing seemed to help. Any advice?
I'm having the exact same issue. The icicles are so translucent that I'm sure I'm missing 99.99% of them. Tried disabling mods, load order changes, different weathers. Best conditions to see them seem to be foggy and very close. Still very hard to see. I notice the post below saying they are bright at night... not on my setup. Actually, harder to see.
If it helps as a clue, I'm using the STEP build along with Seasons (no ENB, use Clarity, True Storms & Lightweight Lighting). Tried looking for conflicts in xEdit but not seeing anything that would cause this (i'm no expert though). Not sure what to try next.
Two suggestions for future mods. Footprints in the snow would be a plus(like the Footprints mod in Skyrim). Also having a vapor breath coming out of characters mouth...both of these would make the winter season even more...cool!
Actually, after about 300 hand placed ones, I made an xEdit script to make them attach to specific reference types, so I wouldn't have to place the rest by hand. Taking trigonometry in school finally paid off.
Just a quick follow up. I found a devious way to use these icicles as trap! Just drop a landmine directly underneath them (say when overhanging on a streetlight) and the next enemy that walks by...boom and a bonus shower of icicles!
Thank you for making great mods nearly a decade after the games release. It doesn't get old seeing all the icicles, and the hand placement is something to appreciate.
I did have one personal preference - the exposure of the icicles. They're quite bright, especially at night. I tried removing the glow effect from their material but no dice. Not sure on messing with the textures as they are shared. The base color is gray, not quite black, but i Imagine it would just become more transparent, still exposed. Do you have any settings in their meshes that control this?
This was something I fought with, as it depends on weather how visible they are. You can set it to a blacker texture and/or base color to help a little. You can enable Falloff and lower the values.

2. You're a madman. 10000 References? That requires dedication.
Have a lot of fun with this!
This pairs together well with Winter Redone and Winter Commonwealth Pines making for a more immersive Wintery Wasteland

Is there a special load order, or is there a waiting period for them to appear?
