Does this work with modded Power Armors or just Vanilla ones? I have a mod pack that aims to make the game harder and I want the Power Armor to be beefier to compensate, but the one I have doesn't seem to work.
people want want you to TAILOR MAKE your mod and patches to fit their choices of other mods.
Tell them to go water a tree. Patch the mods you use, or patch the most common if you care to, and LINK THEM a Video like this :) They will drive you insane, these feckless beggars under how much they would LOVE or APPRECIATE a patch for this and that...allthewhile not contributing to anyone's work in any way but a request. You see the guy post anywhere else ? Thanks? Nope..only requests or complaints.

for some reason the T51 chest piece hasnt been affected by this mod, but only the other T51 pieces are affected, i dont know if its other mods i use or if something is incorrect. the T51 chest piece always remains at the default defense values except for the legs, arms and the helmet, is there someone that can help me with this?
for some reason its also not affecting the T60 pieces as well, i believe some of the pieces has become weaker? I'm not sure but its either the right arm or the left arm that has this mods "correct" defense values, being around 900 something. you also mentioned DLC armors, does that mean legit DLC or nexusmod power armors? or both? Like classic APA or vigilante power armor or T65 for example.

Is the cite of the power armor capabilities of the T-51 from the lore or made by you?
Anyway, does that make sense? The T-51 from the lore should offer great protection, at least you read about it in the game. Designing a massive military armor which cannot withstand common weapons used on the battlefield, like medium 7 mm calibers (for example .308/ 7,62 x 61 NATO), used in sniper rifles and medium machineguns? I don't know. It would be quite sad if a level IV plate of our common armor could not stand up against normal not armor penetrating 7 mm medium rounds (which are about 3500 to 4000 Joule) but only normal assault rifle rounds (5.56 or 7,62 x 39). It's a matter of frequency you have to meet such dangers compared to the big effort in making such armor.
(I don't discuss the fact that energy of a round does not have directly to do with penetration ability which is a matter of energy per square area and the material and construction of the projectile).
In other words, I would not design power armor so weak or at least not tell it to the soldiers. In my game a T-51 chest piece for example has about 4,000 DR/ER, aside high fire, poison and rad resistance. Too bad my Nora cannot use it due to no PA training ...
I did my best to match the Lore to realistic durability from the game.
These changes are just base framework for unmodified tiers of PA. Obviously increasing to tier V will create massively powerful PA, and respectively it will offer the same protection to others wearing it as well. Please offer your feedback and how we can improve this mod.
