If you are going to disable this mode don't forget to disable X-Cell too because if u don't most heads will stretch. And from my experience so far after disabling this mod and X-Cell i have only ran into the Rusty face once
If there are still stretched heads vs this mod, then probably best to still use this mod. I have been waiting for a team member to properly finalize some problematic hairstyles before submitting the final results.
The Stretches only happens if i disable this mod and keep X-Cell on but if i disable both then everything is fine. (For now i have only encountered 1 rusty face bug with the newest patch).
If the x-cell.ini facegen= is set to true, it fixes some brown/rust face bugs, but it causes face stretching, especially on the thamesfolk.
If it's set to false, it causes some brown/rust face bugs, but it fixes most of the stretching issues.
It seems to be that some NPC get rust/brown face when it's set false, and some get in when it's set true. Then again this mod fixes most stretching issues, it might be best to leave it false.
we are experiencing a very similar issue happen in Bloodborne right now on a PS4 emulator. Bloodborne like most FromSoftware games also uses FaceGen.
Can you perhaps tell us in technical detail how exactly you fixed this issue for Fallout? Like what was the process like? What files did you have to edit, with what, and how, etc. The community might be able to come up with a workaround fix right now for this issue then.

I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I did a clean install of Fallout 4 gog version and at the patch for Fallout London to work, but I cannot get Xcell to work. It crashes each time it loads and can never make it to the main menu. I disabled all the options that are required for the buffout memory management options as posted in the description, but I cannot get this mod to work and it is literally the first mod I tried to install on a clean install of Fallout 4 goty gog edition. Here is the crashlog if someone could help me pinpoint why this is crashing when I am downloading for the purpose of crashing less I would greatly appreciate it and it has to be something simple that I am unaware of.
I am reinstalling it right now and generating the settings and then will do the mod and post what it says. What needs to be done after I install in order for the mod to load correctly. I have gog version of goty.
could you generate cbbe-enabled facegen addon, to fix the head rear part of the female heads? those are especially visible on bald and bald-ish heads, such as the pistols.
Yeah, it's disabled in X-Cell Over Buffout 4 FOLON Crash Fix so if you installed that like I did you need to change the X-cell.ini that comes with that or delete it as it's not neccessary.
If i could upload the link for the picture in this comment i would but thats certainly not correct.
X-cell has a known problem with thameshaven people having human parts there not supposed to have. this is that.
and because google is driving me bonkers with small tiled images or images that i cant get anywhere with that isint some braindead article, heres some braindead article with a picture of what hes supposed to look like
No, it is correct. This is how he looks without X-Cell installed. If it is incorrect, then the devs incorrectly modified his face records. A number of the Thamesfolk specifically have human skin set in the NPC records. If this is not intentional, the devs should not have added those edits.
If it is indeed unintentional, it is simple to fix, but I haven't read the lore to know if there are not different stages of evolution of the Thamesfolk.
If you scroll down in the linked article, you will see that he has the same face under "How To Rescue The Ferryman".
That is not the correct look for the Ferryman. Turning on facegen in X-Cell completely breaks all Thamesfolk for me. It puts human skin on their face. And the Ferryman doesn't look like this without X-Cell. Maybe your game was bugged with Thamesfolk? Surprisingly they had zero glitches with me. But the rusty face on humans is sadly common.
Also thank you for your work here. It is very appreciated!
If I disable X-cell, he looks the same to me. I expect it's the errors in the Race record causing it. The facegen included with FOLON makes them entirely human, as you can see in my screenshot, instead of partially human. I'll manually create the textures, because I don't really understand the Race record well enough to fix the issue. I do agree it looks like a mistake.
@Doomlurker That is absolutely what the ferryman looks like without X-Cell, you're just wrong. He has always looked that way for me and I just started using X-Cell, played for a month before that.
No, the Ferryman should have the same consistent skintone as all other Thamesfolk. That's how he always looked to me once I disabled the facegen feature in X-Cell.
Gambit you fail to realise theres videos online and pictures on google of the ferryman that can be referanced...
One search completely proves im right
Type in google "ferryman fallout london" in google IMAGES and post a pic or a link to one (you know like i did above..) if you dont believe me. Edit: Hell i just looked and only one pic was like the bug and i had to scroll alittle bit for it (not much though) so this bug might be common but undocumented because nobody knows its a bug. WHICH BY THE WAY SHOWS DOUBLEYOUC'S THEORY HAS POTENTIAL ON THE TEAM RELYING ON A GLITCH TO APPLY A FACE MASK! (a whole new level of bethesda engine jank unexplored by bethesda...yet, at least)
If he looks like what you describe you probably ran the wrong launcher somehow or messed up your install or this is just a unresolved/unnoticed rare bug with the game (among other possible variables ranging from hardware to the fact that this games only on its first update)
As for this bug... if google images first handfull of results looks like something more correct then what you got, then what you got is probably incorrect
There is no sense continuing this discussion. I have confirmed with the FOLON team what the intended appearance was and am working to get the fix included officially. They are supposed to not have any human parts.
After installing this mod, I can no longer change my companions' faces using the LooksMenu. I can change it by setting facegen to false in x-cell.ini. How can I fix this?
you need to add the companion base formid number to the exclusion part in x-cell's ini (you can get that through xedit, or from fallout 4's fandom wiki), or using xedit enable "is chargen face preset" flag in each companion's record.
this is precisely for that (but this one's only for fallout london, since its default facegen meshes are broken). invisible heads happen when npc has no generated facegen mesh. x-cell forcibly disables the editable heads and loads the facegen mesh to improve performance, so if it's missing you get headless npcs.
What is the benefit of using this over having rusty face fix and the unofficial fixes thamesfolk exclusion list for x-cell mentioned ? Is it more performant? I've been using those and had no issues.
rusty face fix doesn't always fix the faces, this does, since the bug only happens on non-facegen meshes when game loads a wrong tint. facegen meshes don't use the tint feature, they already have a pre-tinted face texture. it also improves performance, especially on fo4ng (but it also works on original), there's less to no loading stutters which happen when you enter an area with the non-facegen mesh using npcs.it's like the precombine system but for npcs. the only downside to it is you can't use slm to edit their faces, since they don't have the cpu-heavy editable face mesh loaded anymore.

How can I fix this?
