They're a throw-back to Fallout One and Two! They were small misc items that (rarely) had a use (if I remember right, male characters could get an NPC pregnant in Two if they weren't in their inventory for the end-screen). I was surprised to see that they gave rad resistance, but it made me giggle a bit myself. I mean, I kind of like the idea of anti-rad candies, too, and to each their own. I just thought I'd add in a little "Fallout History" =P
Let's be freaking ho nonest, No one would even use these post war, as they would be too crazy from radiation caused insanity to care about STIs and STDs
I don't believe you're injesting them, but instead, you're "equipping" them, and they're physically blocking the radiation from your Jimmy. And they're an "aid" item because they're single-use, unlike clothing.
I initially visualised wearing them as a very stretchy hat on your actual head but then realised you couldn't breathe. I do think Iodine Candies is a good swap.
i mean to be fair stimpacks are also under the consumable section so are you eating stimpaks? no you inject them same thing with stuff like jet. I think the devs of FO4 just made it easy and stuffed everything under one tab. I could understand you if we had a system like fo76 but in FO4 I think thats just how the game works. Where else would they put it?(appearal actually would be fine as well)
i also assumed you equipped it..but seriously haha? it isnt remotely 'spicy' content, anyone 10 and up knows what a condom is, theyre extremely normal and not racy in the slightest, its no more spicy than a face mask or sunglasses. also its a gag item, you arent meant to think that hard about it.
I mean I did specifically say I don't mind them existing. It just bugged me that they're a consumable item and the buff from them doesn't make any sense.

They'd be well disintegrated by the time the game starts.
