Nothing will save F76. 2022 and STILL RUNS like garbage, like Skyrim does before 10 years. 2080ti/10900k/64Gb ddr4, and still stutterings and frame drops. Playing RDR2 2k/4k with 110fps, Cyberpunk 2077 same,ACOdyssey same,Metro Exodus same. Playing F76 2k, rip. Game it's broken due to super outdated engine. Bethesda knows it, yet don't care at all to fix their craps.
20 and 30 series struggle, im on a 3090 and its barely playable, and to make fallout 4 run ok i have to add so many mods just to get it to stop stuttering and crashing
I don't know what youre talking about... game is not broken, i'm playing with 3060ti / stable 60fps / 4K / Ultra, ON LINUX STEAM (PROTON-GE) without any trouble.
Oh, I suffering on 4070ti + 11900K + 64GB DDR5 7000MhZ , NOT because of the graphic, i get 20-30 CTD in the main menu every time with clean files or modded.
Works really well. The distance was a little too short for me though so I made the numbers higher. I am on medium to low settings and these were the numbers that were in my prefs before messing with them
So i decided to just cut all the numbers in half. So far so good. After all of the tweaks ive researched, this one as well as turning off AA have had the most noticeable fps boosts for me. Also in the nvidia control panel i dont have an option for the preferred graphics processor but i did find a way to set the gpu in the windows graphics settings but it doesnt seem to do anything. The task manager shows literally 0 to 1% of gpu usage the whole time im playing the game. i dont know if thats normal or not.
The fixes described are great but why not explain to people to put them in there own created Fallout76Custom.ini ? This will have the same effect but without toughing the original file right? Just give the code lines the same header in the custom made ini
Also vsync off works, but for some people vsync set to fast works as this will reduce some tearing and give more fps, but again system dependent.
Men, those advices works for low-end PC. BUTTT I`ve got Ryzen 7 5700x/RX 6600/24gb DDR4/1tb NVME SSD - power of the sun in this PC - and still I cant feel full pleasure from the picture which, lets be honest isnt so great compared to Witcher 3 (or even Witcher 2). I`am setting all graphics down to medium and still this shitty piece of code doesnt work smoothly
"6e. In '2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:' change this: [Use global setting(Auto-select: NVIDIA GPU)] -> [High-performance NVIDIA processor]"
What exactly do i need to change? there is no such option listed. I only got the Selected program (Fallout 76) and right after: "Specify the settings for this program" but no "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program"
seems to me like you have a integrated graphics card in your CPU then ? if you would have an "extra" GPU installed it should give you the option to select the preferred card used.

Power management mode -> Prefer Maximum Performance
As far as I know this does the same thing, it will choose performance above powersaving
this just gave me the little FPS boost i needed, playing is so much smoother now !
