I am trying to find a way to fix this, but it may not be possible without an official full INI disclosure via data mine, from Bethesda, or other means.
EDIT: The Zoom Out and Zoom In entries still work so if you want to use them, feel free:
My photomode camera speed is stuck at max, and so is the camera speed in build mode, it wasn't like that before, anyone have the same issue? (Just realized the creator is Banned...)
The last patch seems like it fixed bApplyCameraNodeAnimations. At least, it doesn't cause a crash anymore. However, something is still not right... but I'm having trouble figuring out what is wrong.
Maybe I just got used to playing with the default camera lol. n.nU
EDIT: No, something is definitely still wrong. I'm having trouble looting in 3rd person mode, which is an issue with the default camera position that my custom settings used to fix.
EDIT2: I'm wrong, I think everything is fixed now. Yay!
This is what I use: [Camera] fPitchZoomOutMaxDist=1.0000 f3rdPersonAimDist=40.0000; AimPosX adjust Aim in 3rd person. Default: 30. f3rdPersonAimFOV=75.0000; Edit your 3rd Person Aiming FOV (Field of View). fOverShoulderMeleeCombatAddY=0.0000 fOverShoulderMeleeCombatPosX=30.0000 fOverShoulderMeleeCombatPosZ=-5.0000 fOverShoulderCombatAddY=0.0000; - Zoom Out, + Zoom In. fOverShoulderCombatPosX=35.0000; - Right, + Left. fOverShoulderCombatPosZ=5.0000; - Down, + Up. fOverShoulderPosY=0.0000 fOverShoulderPosX=20.0000 fOverShoulderPosZ=5.0000 bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0 bDisableAutoVanityMode=1; Disables the AFK-spin cam. f1st3rdSwitchDelay=0.01000; Time to switch between 3rd and 1st person cams. fVanityModeMaxDist=250.0000 ; Set higher to change default max distance cam. Default: 1000. fVanityModeMinDist=100.0000 ; Set higher if you dislike close cam. Default: 70
Unfortunately no it doesn't, and I'm unable to figure out why.
All I can tell is that the setting bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0 is what is causing the third person non-scoped zoom effect to break. So I guess it's not "completely" back to the way things were before they broke the setting...
I believe the f3rdPersonAimDist and the fOverShoulderCombatPosX are linked in a way. Play with those respectively to see if you find a solution. If I remember correctly, they needed to be the same, but I may be wrong or things have changed now.
Has anyone solved the mystery of the 3rd person aim-zoom affect being broken yet? It's kind of a deal breaker for me since i play almost exclusively in 3rd person.
I have a theory as to what might have happened... This may have been unintentional. It's possible that the change made for the combat improvements required editing the animation files in such a way that broke compatibility with the ini file settings.
If I'm correct, then it also MAY be possible to undo the damage by using animation files from a previous update. However, we'd probably lose some of the new features in doing that.
Some camera settings I can confirm still work: fMinCurrentZoom=0.0000 fPitchZoomOutMaxDist=0.0000 f3rdPersonAimDist=40.0000 ;AimPosX adjust Aim in 3rd person. Default is 30. f3rdPersonAimFOV=75.0000 ;Edit your 3rd Person Aiming FOV (Field of View). bDisableAutoVanityMode=1 ;Disables the AFK-spin cam. f1st3rdSwitchDelay=0.01000 ;Time to switch between 3rd and 1st person cams. fVanityModeMaxDist=250.0000;Set higher to change default max distance cam. Default 1000. fVanityModeMinDist=0.0000;Set higher if you dislike close cam. Default 70
That's an interesting idea, I am going to see if it is even possible to rollback the archive, assuming it was updated (I am not at my rig right now). I am also in the process of editing all the overlapping clothing items from FO4 and 76 so my Hide Your Pip-Boy mod can display missing clothing arm sections (f-ing tedious work there).
yeah i wouldn‘t advise on rerolling the animations file. it was actually updated. gets updated with every patch, that‘s why i have to install holstered weapons every time. you‘ll have a lot of invisible, uninteractable things in your game. happened to me when they released the vendors. they were in the CAMP menu, but i couldn‘t place them as they stayed invisible. i hope bethesda notices this.
That sounds more like a mesh issue than an animation issue. I know they've messed with how collision meshes handle activation actions at least once since the game launched, and that the system is already different from what Fallout 4 used.
I can't play like this... I guess I somehow got used to aiming in 3rd person based on my character's position on the screen, because I keep shooting way too far to the left at everything now!
This is f*cking idiotic - camera settings like these are personal preference, they don't provide any advantages in PvP for NW. If anything they should have disabled FOV settings if they wanted to remove ini edits that could be considered advantageous...
I found that the zoom out function is very advantageous for PVP. I can hide behind a tree and see around the tree and far into the distance in 3rd person. Also for PVE you can shoot around corners with VATS, as long as you shoot instantly after activating.

June 10th update has broken custom camera setups!

EDIT: The Zoom Out and Zoom In entries still work so if you want to use them, feel free:
fPitchZoomOutMaxDist=0.0000
fVanityModeMaxDist=1000.0000
fVanityModeMinDist=50.0000
To zoom IN a little further, lower fVanityModeMinDist
To zoom OUT further, raise fVanityModeMaxDist
Other than that this mod shines

I want to zoom out to full map view.
FullMapZoom.ba2 =D
Can you center and raise the camera (IE not over the shoulder view?) using this mod?
