   I tried both versions, I think I actually prefer the original louder one. It really wakes you up.

   i wish the volume was lower, so i tried my hand at lowering the volume. but idk how to mod so it didn't work out :P   
   this is what i did:
   bethesda archive extractor
   extracted xwm files
   converted them to wav
   ran them through audacity
   reconverted them to xwm
   repacked them into ba2 with archive2 tool
   = didn't work
   i'll try again tomorrow and see if i can get it to work.

      Sounds cannot be compressed when packing them with Archive2 or they will not work. You need to go to Archive > Settings... and set Compression to Nonebefore adding files to the archive.

   I suggest using something like https://mp3cut.net/change-volume to easily change the volume without losing too much quality.
