I don't understand this comment because I have a lenovo with even weaker specs and I've been playing far cry 3 for a few hours on mostly medium (with shadow and post fx set to low, most importantly) and while I haven't measured FPS it runs and looks just as well, if not better than the xbox 360 version. It's by no stretch optimal but definitely both looks good and is playable. That's at 1280 x 720
farcry 3 for PC is terribly optimized bc its capped at 30 fps so it even dips below because of Vsync and it has a load of DOF and SSAO into it which is very heavy on the GPU
Just a heads-up, Back up your patch.dat and patch.fat files and then use the originals during the mission "mushrooms in the deep". If you don't you will get stuck and wont be able to progress.
And also on the mission "Black Gold." You"ll get stuck on the last warehouse where Sam's AI glitches and you wouldn't be able to progress further. ALWAYS MAKE A BACK UP OF ANY GAME, even if it doesn't support modding (entirely).
