Hey! idk if you are still reading the comments after *9 YERS FROM THE RELEASE OF THIS MOD* (time pass!!!!!) But i wanna thank you for giving me again the joy and the reasons for playing this game after finishing too many times. I dind´t touch the game in YEARS, i started playing again like two years ago, but since multiplayer closed, i left. Yes, there are some mistakes like the game isn´t pausing 😂😂 but u know, i think this is a mod for veterans, so one way or another we´ll manage it. Thank you, GRACIAS. PS: Why did u have to swap Lisa´s model with a random old-fat native npc? 🤣
First - whatever the author did to the controls is messing with both the QTEs and sprint (it takes a while to start sprinting - given the amount of enemies you encounter that while is usually crucial to get in cover). A friggin croc killed me cos the QTE asked me to press a button on the opposite side of the keyboard (two key settings are crap and unncecessary, neither are shortcuts for skills, the handbook and such - nobody uses these - you just hit escape).
Second: theres no way to pause the game. At all. If you bring up the map or hit escape to get into options - in the vanilla game you would pause the game. In this mod the game is still going and youre getting killed while looking at the map or the controls or taking a piss. This needs to be fixed.
Third: where the f*** is the minimap? Theres a circle there, sure, but it doesnt do anything. No icons for enemies, no icons for items, no icons for anything of value. Why does everyone and their dog have a hard on for removing the funcionality from the game? You want immersion? Play ArmA!
Im not exacly sure if camera/weapon tagging was tampered with or not (havent played long enough to check) but the mod is a wreck and needs fixing badly.
I have the same issues, on top of which movement is absolutely screwed. Pressing one movement key works fine, immediately switching to another simply doesn't work - the 2nd key won't respond. So basically in order to move around I need a half-second pause between each movement key press.
These issues are sad cause otherwise it seemed like a good mod.
Can u release a new update of return to rook island? i cant pass the second quest, i have tried with the other mod that have the pirate's thing and is working fine, the keys are a bit weird for me maybe u can roll back to the og movements and maybe u can merge with muds mod, or another one, make the mod more like fc3 reborn mod, with the prices of the weapons and other things, idk if this mod is alive but well i want new updates. thats is if u have the time to release a new update.
I think there are 2 things that necessarily have to be corrected into this mod (other than that , it's great) . 1) There should be no lag for the Run action . Maybe it makes some sense to be that way , since one in real life has first to move a bit until actually starting to run , on the other way , when you are shot from all over , you don't have time to do that in the game . But the game does not act like in real life , so this should be avoided , otherwise the player gets panicked in battles , frustrated and even gives up playing as well ... 2) The red icons on the map are problematic because you can't distinguish them that good as the old blue ones . It's not the color that creates the problem , it's the fact that now they all look the same , regardless if they are red or blue .
This ''all weapons from the start'' thing,must be stop. It just killing entire fun of the game. Every overhaul mod i try to find around, exactly same thing: All weapons from the start. This is plain cheating,not overhaul.

Doesn't add essential skills and keeps all the dumb cutscenes unskippable like a boss -_-
