Hoping to see this updated soon with some of the features from the prior rando. As is there is no way to randomize enemies in pretty much any way and the license board randomization is a bit lacking since it just seems to mash together 2 existing boards.
Those 2 things wouldn't be all that frustrating aside from that the dependency on the old version of the external file loader breaks a bunch of other QoL mods like those that makes Steal gambits work properly, Allow FoV changes, Espers for All, and the one that lets party members pick up drops for you.
If it is possible to quickly add support for that latest version of the file loader it would also clear up a lot of confusion people are having with the install itself.
Update: Whelp I just figured out how to get it to work with the newer file loader. Here are basic steps: 1 - Open Vortex and set the FF12 External File Loader to 1.3.10 as default. 2 - Run the Open World Rando and generate your seed. 3 - Set the File Loader version to 1.3.13. 4 - Right click the file loader and choose, Open in File Manager. 5 - Navigate to x64\modules\config and open the ff12-file-loader ini file. 6 - add rando=rando right under [paths]. 7 - Launch the game and enjoy all your mods working with the rando. :)
Hey so I wondered how to get the items in the trials stages? In the item location documentation it says there are a bunch of items on the trials stages but I never saw a chest there. Did someone figure this out or is it a bug? In an older seed I think I even had a key item there...
I fixed it by going to an older version of the file loader. But here's something I'm curious about. Is it possible to take out the jobs that were added like loremaster and demolitionist, and replace them with the Tactics Reborn jobs? I'd love to see my Dark Knight go through the randomized game,
I've been working on this for an hour and I keep getting an error message. "Failed to install the External File Loader. Expected files are missing." I downloaded it manually, downloaded on vortex. I was able to get everything installed but this. Help!
How can I install this. Im having trouble through vortex, i installed everything except the VM decompiler/compiler as it wouldnt wotk through vortex. Also there is no randomizer.exe in the x64 folder
EDIT: Nvm i installed everything manually and it works fine, i love this randomizer, be great for races
I'm so confused. I installed everything that has to be installed via Vortex, except for the VM script decompiler which doesn't have the option to be installed through Vortex. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with this decompiler, where to place it or if I should run any of the .bat files. Maybe this is the missing link, cuz I don't see a randomizer.exe anywhere and when I launch the game, as suggested, there's nothing different. Does anyone know wth I'm missing?
best hint i can give you right now is that with the latest version, Vortex is no longer required so id suggest trying to just download the files manually and run it via that instead of via vortex

Edit: Nevermind. I'm just being dumb, and tired. It seems to work just fine.
