General Note: If you experience crashing issues while playing the game, the FF13Fix beginning with version 1.6.4 will now enable the 4GB patch to be applied to the FFXIII main exe file. Implementing the 4GB patch should resolve most, if not all, random crashing issues related to this mod. See the FF13Fix instructions on how to apply the 4GB patch.
After doing the batch files steam proceeded to validate and replace every single file that was changed on launching the game. Game will not launch unless the original files it expects are there and removes all custom files from the mods, any way round this?
After launching the game after validating, the models seem the same as normal ones too so its clear the validating replaced all modified files.
That sounds like a Steam problem. You might want to try deleting your Steam download cache, then rerun the game (no mods) and see if it starts without any type of reverification.
It ran before the mods without verification perfectly, it only validated after the mods... I made a backup of the folders before patching so I will try it again.
Edit: clearing cache seems to have worked, no validation happened on launch...although I am not seeing the images in game that are posted in this mod. Maybe my system needs an upgrade :)
I reset the game cleared the cache, then proceeded with the 4gb/fix and your patch plus models+
After playing the game through to chapter 5 I firmly believe the textures are improved and I just didnt detect the changes but they look much better in later chapters.
Depends on the resolution you play at as well. 1440p and 4k it’s more visible. The easiest way to check is to look at the main character models and compare them to some of the pics in the HD Models mod as this one also improves the models.
Hello, my game has been randomly freezing, but not crashing, when freeze there is nothing i can do and when i see task manager, it says "not responding" The freeze mostly occured when i opening map or when opening menu, or after transition after battle, is it because of this texture mod? Or is it just because the bad port of the game? I have using ff13fix and using 4gb patch, can you help me? Thanks
comment installer le fichier Nova (version 4.0.1) qui a une extension ".ncmp"? Dans le fichier zip il n'y a que ce fichier et aucun installateur. Merci d'avance pour la réponse.
Appears to be a Windows security issue. In your mod directory there is a subdirectory called logs\ and in there is a file "HDProject.log". Open that in a text editor (notepad for example) and see if there is any more information about what the installer was trying to do when it got the Access is denied error. Alternately, you could just try right clicking on the installer and select "Run as Administrator" and see if that fixes the problem.
I installed this mod using the bat prompt, but when I do, the game crashes. It crashes after I start the game up and try to load up my save. Is anyone else getting this issue? Even with the 4gb patch, the game still crashes.
Hello! I installed the mod and the 4 gb fix, but now when I try to run the game on Steam, it says the game failed to initialize with the error code 51. Can anyone help me? Thank you!
I installed the ff13 hd project and this one. But I want snow's emblems to show up now that I'm playing him. I try to run hd models plus and now it says "Not all HD 4.0 files appear to be in the desired file locations. aborting cleanup. Exiting setup"
Take a look at the comparison pictures of the main characters on the HD Models mod page. (Lightning / Vanille are the easiest to compare) You can use these to see if you are actually using this mod. Just confirming, you are not using Nova in unpacked mode, correct? (If you don't know what that is, then you aren't using it)
I used Nova for the volume slider mod, had to unpack the game files to make it work, but for the HD Texture mod, no, the game files were not unpacked, I used the included .bat files and installed from there, installation went just fine.
I was able to install the fix and 4gb patch and the game runs really well with this mod but I was wondering why the character models flicker in and out?
Sorry, but not at this time. The game generates the UI at a fixed 720p resolution then upscales the image to the display resolution. There isn't a way to change this yet. Even the XBox version that MS improved still has a 720p resolution for the UI, they just changed how it upscales (nearest neighbor) but the underlying resolution is the same.

But I will try to redo it manually this time to see if it works.
Edit: It worked after I put the d3d9.dll and FF13Fix files in the corrected folder as written in the instructions.
The location I checked was Hanging Edge.
It is possible to mod the UI, Fonts?
It looks blurry, in comparison to the game.
Playin' currently on 2K.
Thanks!!!
It's truly dissapointing, the game looks fantastic
Anyway, awesome project!
