it doesnt work on my end as well. the xbox buttons gets replaced by this weird "up dpwn left right" blue buttons for the face buttons and some generic looking L and R buttons

right now it is a case of the current version of flagrum and not necessarily my mod. ive already reported it to the devs of flagrum and will be fixed in the next release.

EDIT: I made a Flagrum compatible mod using the official textures if anyone needs it. Raw textures for Special-K available too.

This took a bit of work to get it on my Steam Deck, but I got it working and it looks great!

For those that are running on Steam Deck and wish to use this mod, you will need to install the game and run it at least once on a desktop/laptop PC. Then install Flagrum and install the mod. Then find the Final Fantasy XV\datas\common\initialize2.earc file and copy it over to your Steam Deck in the same location. Use Steam's Game Library -> Property -> Installed Files -> Browse to find the folder. Copy/paste it in and you'll be good to go.

Not sure how well it'll play with other mods, all I normally use is a Cindy mod from Steam Workshop.

I honestly wish we didn't have to go through this on PC to get the button layouts we wanted. I feel all PC games should support Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo controller display schemes out of the box, especially if the games were multiplatform to begin with.

Wow thank you for sharing the information.
I agree buttons is an accessibility feature someone wired with triangle cross circle square simple cant trasnsition to xyab that easily and vice versa. in most cases people just dont and end  creating a mod for it.

Thank you for your great work!
Would be happy to see if there a mod to replace windows prompts(the blue one) into playstation one.
Even I am using the playstation controller, sometime it shows the windows prompts instead of ps prompts.

to stop that from happening simply do anything with the keyboard and controller up until the title screen to prevent the game from defaulting to generic controller.

you need flagrum installed . it  is a mod manager then download this file and extract its contents.
Open flagrum and click install mods. select the file

...but the windows version supports Playstation Controllers natively anyways? I'm sorry, but I fail to see the point.

it does but there are MORE X-input users ie people using non D-input (Non Ps4 ot Ps5 controllers) that still prefer to use PlayStation style prompts in spite and despite using xbox or any xinput type or x-input compatible controllers. only a relatively handful of games actually offer playstation prompts  for x-input controllers

hence the description : Replaces X-Box button prompts (X-input) with Classic PlayStation prompts.

@faospark Thank you so much for this. I wanted to use the DualSense and use it wirelessly which is most easily done through Steam input, but wanted PS4 icons. You are a godsend. Is there going to be a version of this mod using options and touchpad? I would like that. Thanks again for all your work :)

i honestly don't know how to do it specifically for the case of dinput controllers that is dualsense and dualshock 4. this mod in particular only replaces the textures for xinput type controllers (xbox contollers and any generic pc controllers ).
it seems steam is translating signals to xinput but i dont think there is a way to set it pause/select to the touchpad because there is no touchpad for xinput controllers..
