If you are getting reports from your anti-virus that the fix is flagged as Trojan.Wacatac or something similar, it is a false positive. You can add the file as an exception in your anti-virus (i.e Windows Defender) and it will not be deleted/quarantined again. If you have concerns about the fix's safety, you can check the VirusTotal report for the latest version. You can also see the full source code at the GitHub repository.
Just stumbled upon this mod today and everything was going fine until i save in Lostwing and decided to close the game to change some settings and when i tried to load back in the game instantly froze. Once i deleted this mod game loaded in with no issues
Please, i beg you, add an option/toogle in cfg, to enable fsr Frame Gen option ONLY for the prerendered cutscenes (sepparate from the realtime ones).
The game runs so perfect with your mod, BUT i wish to keep realtime cutscenes without fsr frame gen and ONLY gameplay and "prerendered" to have frame gen.
Why? you ask, well, gameplay works wonderfuy with it (frame gen fsr), and strangely, the only way for the prerendered videos to run smooth (without stutter) is with Frame Gen enabled. It's really stupid, but there's no other way. However, enabling frame gen for everything, including realtime cutscenes, makes them very choppy, as it doean't hit 60 fps always. Also there is a strange stutter/judder going on in camera cuts with Frame Gen enabled (in realtime cutscenes).
Thanks so much for you amazing mod, i am so close in playing this game flawlessy!
I really fixed freezes/crashes. xD But: 1. They are on pirated game only. 2. They are achievement related, example after every boss fight in cutscenes.
Basically you need to activate all achievements at all in one time and the easiest way to do that is load once any completed save game that have all achievements complete. First load freeze/crash game but second is fine and game dont freeze/crash in any other save. You can download completed save from this site. :)
Any chance you have a save file for me to use that? As the one on Nexus isn't working for me. At least not the one by ultimalius as that just caused the game to freeze when manually loading it.
VoughtsHeroHomelander First load downloaded save freeze/crash game and this is good. Means that achievements from this save are unlocked. Second load downloaded save should be fine and you can load any other save and play without freezes/crashes (only crashes on achievements that haven't been unlocked yet).
I have a request though, in gameplay tweaks you added stagger and damage multipliers, is it also possible to make enemies more aggressive too? I think that's a variable since it's in FF mode. If it's not possible thank you anyway, great mod. Cheers!
I am in my first playthrough and and was looking for a cutscene FPS fix as soon as I noticed it's capped to 30. This absolutely did the trick and the custom FPS cap is a bonus. Works like a charm and I have no freezes or crashes at all in ~7 hrs.
Found the problem. This game (1.03 with or without this mod/framegen) uses ALL VRAM (and then ALL RAM) when it crashes. It usually happens when the cutscene loads after a boss fight, and only crashes the first time it loads. I just beat Odin and so far it has crashed every time, so I have to fight ALL BOSSES TWICE.
My machine and game settings: RTX4090 64GB RAM Direct Storage ON (game installed on M.2 SSD, of course) All highest DLSS Balance Framegen ON 4K 120fps cap
That is what i experienced as well. It only crashes the first time. Played first time for 20 hours and had many crashes, then decided to start a new game from scratch again. Didn't have a single crash for the first 20 hours into the game. The moment i advanced further i got crashes again. Well for me its actually more freezes than crashes.
Is it possible to stop it from eating up Vram and causing the game to get so slow it needs a restart? yeah fighting a boss twice sucks, I always have to enable the 1 hit kill cheat for the second time just because I do not wanna refight all over again.
Reading your problems, you at least can continue playing (even if you have to play the same part twice), but I can't... My problem is much bigger. I'm at the part where you fight against Bahamut (after defeating Knight of the Blinding Down, maybe the first hour of the game), and there's a moment, when Bahamut lies on the ground, and my computer just shutting down, always at the same moment during the cutscene.
It's not temperature issue, because I've been monitoring GPU an CPU temperature and it was fine. I tried to reduce the graphics to the minimum. I tried to reinstall graphic drivers, and even my Windows OS.
5 times... 5 times I played the same fights and my computer keeps shutting down... Any advice?
Make sure if you're overclocking/undervolting with anything that it's 100% stable. You could think it's stable until a game like FF16 comes along and doesn't like it.
I had a problem with this game when Joshua shows up with Ultima to save Clive/Jill. GPU driver crashed, it had literally completely uninstalled itself. It was the same spot in this cutscene every single time, found out it was a problem with the driver version I was on, updated to a new one and had no GPU crashes/shutdowns in FF16.
I believe it was 24.9.1 and I updated to 24.12.1 - but I found most luck on 23.11.1 drivers. It says the game won't launch because of the old driver, but it does anyway and runs smoother than any of the new drivers lol. (AMD)

I had to shutdown the game via task manager.
This would explain why the mod creator couldn't recreate the issue as well, because they probably already finished the game once.
There's probably some hidden file/check that triggers the crash. Maybe achievement related?
