For anyone trying to use this, USE OLD_SilentChadleyAndMai File, it works, and it's a lifesaver for anyone trying to listen to other content while doing brainless combat missions.
I can say that I was finally able to make it work after some fatal errors and continuing trying... and now is stable.. but Im using the one old version so chad is mute but Mai is not haha..but its something.
Ive encountered an issue... since I just got the pc version (I played the game originally on ps5), I still havent found chadley on my run, however.. problem is that after installing this mod when I tried to execute the ff7rebirth.exe to run the game, I will get a critical error message before it actually loads the game.. (I guess is when is checking integrity of files or something...).. since I was installing mods for a while...no testing them 1 by 1.. I had to go through a trial and error to find the one causing the issue.. and apparently this was the one... the video changing when chadley calls are still in the game and it loads fine, but I had to remove from my ~mod folder the US mute files for Chadely and MAI..... maybe there is another mod that is cousin conflict? I dont know.. the only other chadly mod Ive installed is the one to mute his music around him... IDEAS? thanks!
May be a bit odd of a request, but do you think you can do a mod to make Mai's voice during hunts louder?
The problem is I have an audio processing disorder, I literally can not filter out some audio to focus on something specific (say, someone talking to me in a crowded room), my brain just lacks those audio filters most people have, so I need speech to be a fair amount louder than the BGM in games to actually be able to hear it. And I actually enjoy all the little world building bits in Mai's dialog.
In most hunts it isn't really an issue, because I can just wait until Mai's done with her dialog before starting the fight, but in the fights against the regions rare hunt monster (Tonberry King, Marlboro, Jabberwocky, etc.), Mai's dialog doesn't start until you start the fight.
And with my audio settings set to 3 for music volume, 3 for SFX volume, and 10 for speech, I still can only make out one in 5 words or so of what Mai's saying because she's so quiet (seriously, her audio is like 1/2 the volume of the other characters for some reason).
You don't have an audio processing disorder in this situation. The mix is just TERRIBLE. Don't solely attribute disability in the face of incompetence. The audio mixing is a mess.
Literally nobody can 'process' Mai's ramblings amidst combat noises and battle dialog from party members, and neither does anyone want to.
Can't argue too much there. Someone needs to teach SquareEnix how to do RMS Normalization. Just as a matter of course, vocals should ALWAYS be normalized a few decibles louder than the music/SFX.
