So you took out Card Mod and how do you expect people improve the weapons of the characters? I've already noticed at least one comment regarding the missing adamantoises. Did you really think this through? I know you want a harder game but removing core components of the game in an effort to increase difficulty doesn't work. Perhaps you should rethink many of your decisions with this mod.
I fully support you, I can't find adamantine and royal crown... It's already the end of the 4th disc. I've seen Adamantoises in Deep Sea Deposit, but they don't drop adamantine!!! PS: I finally found the royal crown from the boss in the castle, but what about adamantine....
So the mod just completely breaks after the first laguna sequence. Zell, Selphie, and Rinoa don't have a GF and I can't equip one to them except for Shiva which is no longer attached to Quistis.
Tried full reinstalling and the issue persists and it makes the zombie president crazy difficult. I'm not at all sure what I might have done wrong in installing it as it seems very straight forward. Are there any other mods that this mod is known to break alongside? I installed Battlefield ultima, horizonpack, and fieldmodeltextures, with Crystal Remastered last.
Really a shame to just abandon a 3 hour run but I legitimately don't know what's going wrong with the mod. Install seems really straightforward and I verified i'm using the correct version dll.
Edit: Nvm... I downloaded the wrong thing from Github, so it was actually a skill issue...
Okay so... I downloaded DeMaster 1.3.3 and in the ReadMe about the installation it says
"Open the FFVIII Crystal Remastered Version folder. Merge the included DEMASTER_EXP folder with the one created by Demaster."
But my Demaster didn't create a DEMASTER_EXP folder. Even after redownloading it, nothing. Am I doing something wrong or is this an error in the ReadMe?
Ok, here we go again. I've downloaded demastered (1.3.3), moved the files over, unpacked game files, aquired a demaster_exp folder. Then I downloaded crystal, created back ups, merged the folders by moving the demaster_exp from the crystal folder to the base ff8 remastered folder, renamed the 1.0.3 dll and moved it into the remastered folder from the crystal folder. With all that said, I don't get to rename bahamut, potions heal for 200 (???), and my starting items are wrong. Help?! please?
Same here. About to try again on a different PC. I tried every .dll and the only one that changed anything was the .2 adding some text to the title screen.
I really do appreciate this mod so far but this is another case where I REALLY wish there was an adequate description of what's supposed to be changed so I know the mod is working as intended.
On that point, are you supposed to acquire ifrit after his battle? I thought he was gonna be relegated to Zell so I was confused when it was added and usable. I also got a Quetzalcoatl at level 100 with no abilities so I assume that was just the way of removing it from the game. But I'm not sure if this is intended or a glitch with the mod because, again, next to no description for what the mods doing.
Uhhhhh I apologize in advance if others have already asked but....is there a guide anywhere for levels of GF and their abilities that you can learn once they hit that level, and if monsters even level with you anymore? I was painstakingly leveling Squall and Quistis to 16 to get access to the next tier of spells, because it's really needed for some stuff (like Diabolos), but I noticed the Grats aren't moving past level 6...
I am able to unequip and equip the GFs to anyone I want. Also, any party member seems to be able to cast any spell they have drawn as long I equip a GF that has the Magic command. I thought only some characters are able to cast specific spells. My squall has access to cast all the spells I have drawn.
