Hi! I'm new to the community. I'm trying to install the HD mod for the game, but when I try to use it with NovaChrysalia, the app crashes. I also installed the FF XIII-2 HD mod, but it’s not working — it gives me an error. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. If anyone could help, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
Hello, I have a problem with mod. While its installing, it showing me this errors: FA Textures Error - models\orig\chr\FA directory not found. NPC Textures Error - models\orig\chr\NPC directory not found. Mon Textures Error - models\orig\chr\Mon directory not found. PC Textures Error - models\orig\chr\PC directory not found. Weapon Textures Error - models\orig\chr\Weapon directory not found.
in my case this mod is causing game breaking infinite loading bugs in some areas
first time it happened when I was teleporting to The Void Beyond ??? AF - got infinite loading screen (left it for 20 minutes to be sure), then tested on clean game without this mod and loading was successful
second time was in chapter 3, after teleporting to Yaschas Massif 010 AF the game is stuck trying to load next area, basically blocking you from progressing through the main plot without the mod new area loaded as intended
the game installed on SSD, with an RTX 3060ti, so I'm sure it's not a hardware issue, I also have 4GB patch enabled and FF13Fix applied have to continue playing without it, which is sad since the characters are looking so much better with it
It's highly unlikely it's the mod itself. It hasn't changed in almost 4 years and just moving from one area to another would have been seen by many other people by now. It's most likely something specific to your PC (game memory) or the general reduction in memory available to the game as Windows updates (or Windows 11) takes more of the limited memory away from the game. Question: are you using Windows 10 or 11?
I'm using Windows 10, I doubt it's my PC, but if nobody else reported similar issues then my game files probably are causing this, I'm using fan translation and it's possible there are some conflicts, but I got no error messages during installation of this mod
The translation mod interaction is probably the cause. This mod pushes the game archive file almost to the max size. Adding another mod, depending on the size, can push it over the limit causing file corruption.
I'm having some trouble downloading this mod. When I try to run the batch file everything is fine, but after I choose an audio option (I'm choosing Japanese) I get this error:
ffxiiicrypt.exe - System Error The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
Problem detected in character files. Files are not in the original format or are missing. Using the files as found will result in characters and or NPCs being unplayable or missing. If you are using the steam version of the game, have steam verify the integrity of your game files.

So I verified the integrity of the game files, downloaded all the mods prior to this one again (Console Content, Leviathans Tears, Better Audio Quality) yet when I try to run through this installer again, I'm still getting the same error. Any idea what I should do?
Looks like the ffxiiicrypt.exe file relies on the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2010. Seems like you can still get it from here. It doesn't seem to be included on newer systems any more.
Alright, took a while but I finally managed to get it installed. I had some corrupted MSVCR100.dll files I needed to delete, then I had to install all the other Visual C++ files including the 2010 one again. Everything went perfectly after that. Thanks for the help!
Really grateful for the HD efforts, but the Japanese voice did disappear and the launcher part did not work. Chose J in the patch as well but failed either. Guess there's sth wrong
OK found the solution. Go to steamapps/common/final fantasy XIII-2/alba_data/sys and delete (or move somewhere else) all documents containing the letter 'u', so that the Japanese voice appears. This trouble might be helpful for those who insisted on the original voice line, say, the mandarin-speak users like me misleaded by some other tips :( ...Thank you again for the HD efforts!
The author suggests installing ff13 fix but it seems you cannot. the cmd asks to locate ff13launcher.exe (specifically) manually or auto search for it but you will never have such file since this game has a different name for the launcher. i don't understand how you are supposed to install ff13 fix then... Plus i don't understand if the mod is installed correctly. It left 2 folders sizing about 12 GBs and the game sizes about 3 GBs more. since i also installed the unlocked dlcs mod prior, i don't understand if those 3 GBs are for the dlcs (unlikely) or it's the HD improve (only 3 GBs?). So i guess the 12 GBs folders are to delete but i don't understand why they remain if the mod itself in theory should clean up files...
Not quite sure what you are asking. If you are talking about a higher polygon count for the models, then yes, some of them have been improved. Generally Serah and some of the NPCs.
