So, I'd like to use your "Vibrant Eyes" mods and also read the comment below on the copy/paste stuff to use it with the 4k/8k mods, BUT I don't know if that'll be enough since those other mods have Yuna's eyes in like 3-5 dds files. Aside from that, I only have Paint.net to do that and I'm not sure how to properly do it without missing some stuff from the texture :/

So, having a file with only the eyes for all characters and a transparent background (if necessary) would be very welcome, if you'd still do that.

Still got not idea if it's enough to replace the eyes in the same file you used, though. Like, the other modders file that's the same you "edited."

In any case, thanks in advance. 8k mods are nice, but I'd also like to use those eyes to enjoy my next playthrough with FFX even more.

And big thanks you created those mods, btw ;)

Hi can you make the eyes texture separate from the body texture since i use the 4k yuna mod it mixes with other yuna models same thing on tidus mods and this mod only changes the eye so maybe you can do it when you have a time. sorry for my english..not my native tongue xD

UPDATE: found a way to do it myself haha

Glad you could work it out! The reply I put below might not be very necessary anymore, but I'm putting it up just in case.

Yuna's high poly/high detail textures are all in one image (same for Tidus and the other party members, as far as I know), so providing a mod that doesn't clash with other texture mods that change the same character is rather hard. The only thing I can do to make it a bit easier to combine this mod with other ones is to give a file with Yuna's eyes that you'd still have to edit in yourself, which isn't much different from just copying the eye from the texture I already provided; the only difference would be that you wouldn't have to manually select the eye from my texture before copying it. People who know how to change the textures of FFX and have some proficiency with graphics editors can definitely fuse this mod with e.g. the 4k Yuna texture, though, at least for private use.

Since I don't know if Drogean allows edited versions of his 4k textures to be publicly distributed (it doesn't seem like it, at least), I don't think I would be allowed to make an edited version with my own eye mods and put it up as a download. I personally don't mind it if people use my textures as part of texture mods (yes, even if you put them up for public download, though do check the readme files for the texture you want to include parts of as this might change), but that's mainly because they're relatively simple.

Also, don't worry about your English; it's very understandable to me. I'm not a native speaker either.

Great job! It's amazing how something like this can bring a lot of life back into her dead remaster face kkk I was wandering if modding her eyebrows to make them look more like the ones in the ps2 face model would be possible?

To be honest I didn't even notice that much of a difference myself with her eyebrows. Is it the actual eyebrows or the shadows underneath that bother you?

Thanks for this nice mod. Greatly reduces the emotionless dead doll eye look she had in the remaster without looking unnatural. Hope to see the same thing with the other characters. Doing the same thing for lip textures would look good too.

I've been considering to also mod the other characters, though Yuna was by far the biggest offender of looking like she's staring into the distance rather than feeling like she's actively there. I also was really bothered by some angles making her look like she has cat pupils rather than round ones, so I tried to fix that too.

Any characters in particular that stand out to you who need new eyes? Also, just high detail models (cutscenes only) or low details (overworld, battles)?

Yeah Yuna was the one who needed it the most. You did a great job fixing it. Id be happy with low res models being modded to but its more important for the high res models since the most important scenes use the better models. All the characters could benefit at least a bit if you had the time though Id say Tidus would be could benefit most though. His eyes needs a color change as well. They are too bright blue currently. He needs a deeper shade of blue like:

Yeah, I've been considering to polish Tidus' eyes with some colour changing too, though I'm not quite sure if I'll make them a realistic blue eye colour, as there are several other characters who don't have realistic eye colours either (like Lulu, who has red eyes). I also think that the light reflections in his eyes aren't all that bad, though I might make a few more and make his eye white a bit whiter as it seems a bit too grey right now.

As for low detail models, I definitely think the eyes (and faces in general) could use a bit more definition, though I'm not quite sure if I can edit them as well as the eyes as I'll have less pixels to work with. I'm not comfortable with upscaling the textures as it will be more graphically intensive for players with low end PC specs and I'm pretty sure I'll get quite some pixelization. (I had to fix up my Modest Lulu mod's alterations after scaling them up for her high res model - the low res one was made first as I had some trouble extracting it from the game.) I'm also not sure if more face details will translate well for scenes where the characters aren't close to the camera, so there's that factor to consider as well.

Even if you don't make them a realistic color a more reflective look would be good for all the characters. Yeah modding the low poly models may not be worth the trouble.I wish they had just used the high poly models for every scene and in gameplay like they are doing with FFXII.

For now I think I'll just prioritize high res textures and fiddle some with Tidus'. If I end up modding his eyes I can always make a version that has his original eye colour and a less saturated alternative.

I think the high res models didn't get used nearly as much as in FFXII because FFX is Square's first PS2 entry in the Final Fantasy series. They've had practice with FFX-2 and if I'm correct also FFXI (not sure if FFXI was released on PS2 or not) when it comes to optimizing 3D models and textures and that's not even mentioning the other series Square put on the PS2, like Kingdom Hearts. Needless to say, I think the remaster is basically mostly texture upscaling, improving the music with the new arranged versions and making the game compatible with modern gaming systems, but not much else.

I finally got around to making and uploading a Tidus eyes mod. Not sure if you saw it yet, but I thought I'd let you know since you seemed interested.

Wait, so I dont just put your files in the textures folder of the ProjectX Mod?

If you extract the archive to the root folder of your game (where FFX.exe is located), it will automatically add the files to the Project X textures folder, unless you're using a different folder name for Project X's textures. (The default path is \UnX_Res\inject\textures\ )

I mainly packaged the file this way so people who are unfamiliar with the way Project X works can easily install the mod without having to figure out where the texture folder is located.

Ahhh I see. Was wondering since every other mod says to put the files into the textures folder but this one had somewhat different instructions. Thanks for clearing it up!
