Im going to test this mod. I will update soon. FAQ: "Then why post a comment?" Good question! Its so I will remember to let y'all know if this works with the new 2024 Collectors Edition of this game. Wow. 2024 and FOUC in the same thought. I never thought my sweet baby game would get revived!! LET'S GOOOOOOOOO!!! It works!!! Soooo easy to install. And I think it just adds the FO2 music and you still have FOUC music. Idk. Cuz no files got replaced. But I do know that the FO2 music is working! God i missed the song "Dont Listen To The Radio". I THOUGHT it was in the game! I guess i played FO2 on the ps2 and not FOUC. Could've sworn that was on ps2 also... All well. Also, just as gig0 says, "add the fo2andUCmusic.bfs line to the bottom of "filesystem"" INSTEAD OF what the readme says to put.
I noticed that the music that's meant to only play in the menus plays during the races now too. Any chance this could be fixed? I tried changing the playlist myself but I must have done something wrong because I can't get it to repack into the .bfs properly.
Hi there. I've just installed this on my Steam Deck, the game starts normally, I see the track title appear on the screen, including some fo2 track titles. But the music never begins playing, so all i've effectively achieved is to remove all soundtrack entirely. The exact same mod install works fine on my PC though.
Not sure if this is even worth a shot but... any chance on updating this mod? They updated the steam version of the game to add achievements and disable the toilet DRM... but now the mod crashes the game. Love this one, not sure what it would need to fix it up.
Why in heavens would you copy and paste the exact same comment in another page?!
I literally taught how to install on a licensed Steam version, what did you think those instructions were? Anyways, it's a blank filesystem file, you right click on the little runt, click open with, choose notepad (if you don't have notepad++, of which i doubt most normal people don't). then add the mod's Music.bfs under the first 2 bfs files, done, click save, with the bfs out of the way, it's now a matter of just dragging and pasting files around with the data and music files.
UPD: Nevermind, gotta install XLiveRedist01.02.0241.00 for the game to work with the mod or without. Thank you so much, I've never played Flatout 2 much and its music breathes the new life into the game! I love F:UC OST so much, but tracklist is on a smaller end of quantity. Even skipping tracks and them being shown in the left corner when they start to play works! Wonder if I should try the mod with F1 soundtrack as well though (UPD: just did it, works the same!).
The readme file with steps how to install this mod has an error in it. It says ''4 - Add Music.bfs at the bottom and then save.'', but the files don't contain Music.bfs, but fo2andUCmusic.bfs. If Music.bfs used then the game throws error. Simply just add fo2andUCmusic.bfs instead of the Music.bfs in the step 4.
