Hi, thank you so much for this awesome mod! All the changes feel really great, "A new Home" stays challenging even at 500 pop, simply brilliant. Please keep up the good work!
First of all I'd like to thank you for this mod! I think that the balance changes are fantastic!
While I was working through your install instructions, I realized that scripting them out via Powershell could make installation of this mod much easier. I've noticed that from other comments that installation can be a bit difficult. I'd like to offer you this script that I wrote that I put up on Github gists: https://gist.github.com/tpill90/ee4c16b548ee3d6a67bf3ad3443d6253
Would you consider including this in your mod download, as well as updating the mod instructions to use this script? I'd be glad to work with you on it if you're interested in using the script. I'd be glad to talk about it more as well.
Thanks for sharing this. If you are fine with giving permission to redistribute your script, I'll look into integrating it into the mod to make it easier for others to install it.
In the mean time, I'll add a link on the description page to your script.
Installing this mod is so so easy. I did it to non-stream cracked version of the game. Just open https://kotcrab.github.io/xdelta-wasm/. In the ''Source file'' find ''common.dat'' from the main directory of the game, and in the ''Patch file''put ''common.dat-balance-mod.vcdiff'' from the mod folder. Press ''Apply patch''. Then rename the newly created ''common-patched.dat'' and put it in the main directory after you delete the old common.dat file. Do the same with the other 3 files from the mod folder! Voila, everything works fine.
I dont think this mod works anymore, I keep getting this error whenever I try to apply the patch: "Error occurred while patching Details: target window checksum mismatch (code -17712)"
I am running on version 1.6.2 just as the mod description asks the game version to be. What can I do from here, or is the mod no longer working?
Very impressive. I'd like to know how you managed to mod Frostpunk, as I've been interested in making the Endless Mode temporary Setbacks last forever (Brittle Steel, Rotting Roots, Steam Cores Seizing...) to make for some truly devastating mid-late game difficulty spikes.
It's done via custom developed tools and hex editing, which makes the type of changes limited since it's difficult to decipher the file formats and data structures by looking at the binary / hex. I think the changes you're suggesting are possible, but more difficult to implement. If you want to take a stab at it, you can use Frostract, a tool someone made to extract specific files from the data files.

I give you 100% permission to freely use the script as you see fit. Integrating it into the download would be nice.

Also, your challenge runs videos are cool!
