    1) Hey, so to the few that would, please don't waste your breath telling me you don't think the game "needs" ReShade. I never said it did. Mods are about providing people with options. I think the vanilla game looks great, but we all have different taste and even want different visuals for different moods or role playing scenarios.

    2) To everyone else, thanks so much for giving my work a try, I've dedicated dozens and dozens of hours to creating and testing these ReShade presets since the game launched into early access. I really appreciate your time :)

Hey - I've this mostly working, in Vulkan too (thanks to Antebell's comment!) but the focus makes my player model blurred out, and the rest of the game not, is there an adjustment I need to make? Followed all the steps Nullusername posted as well. Thanks in advance.

    how it looks:

Hey that's awesome you got it working with Vulkan! I'll have to figure out why I just cant get any Vulkan game to work with ReShade one day, but this game runs SOOO much better in Vulkan it's crazy. Anyway, the focus issue is a simple fix.

      1) Pop open the reshade menu
      2) Around the middle there's a button that divides the menu in half that says something like "Edit Preprocessor Definitions"
      3) Click that and change the value next to "Depth_Buffer_Is_Reveresed" from whatever 0 to 1 (Or if it already says 1, then change it to 0).
      4) Click anywhere outside the reshade menu which saves the changes

That should be it. Lemme know if that doesn't work. And please check back soon as I've been working on a major overhaul and expansion of this whole mod collection. I may even just put it on a new mod page since it adds many more things and new presets.

      Cheers,
      Merc

Thank you so much, that worked! I should have said in my first post, but planned on in my reply - thank you in general, you've done a crackin' job with this, it's fantastic, and you can feel the love for GR when you load it up, it's such a cool perspective change, it feels so gritty and cinematic. Great work.

Note to other players struggling to get Vulkan & Reshade working: I'm using Reshade 5.4.2 - it seems 4.9.1 has issues with vulkan and this game, so I could only get it working with d3d9. 5.4.2 everything works fine and most importantly, in vulkan, but follow AnteBells steps:

      Antebell - "

      • uninstall BattlEye from the game folder using "uninstall_BattlEye.bat"
      • then in BELauncher.ini, change SilentInstall to 0.
      • When you launch the game, it'll ask you to redownload BattEye, just hit cancel and the game will launch normally with Reshade, including any version of it :]

This is how i got mine to work with Vulkan and it runs perfectly."

I will def check back, 100% - One other thing, when I am playing and I scroll too left or too right, my cursor moves past the edge of the game and on to my desktop, on the monitors either side of my main monitor, even though the game is in fullscreen mode. I've been looking online for a solution since I believe it is reshade specifically, but you being experienced in this field, I'm hoping maybe you might have experienced this and have an idea on how to fix it.

EDIT (Potential temp fix): I noted that pausing the game and unpausing it seemed to lock the mouse within the game so I could infinitely aim around me without flying out on to a desktop screen. Not sure this is THE ultimate solution, but thought I'd share it.

Aside from that, I loved the setup for this, and I tried some settings that I found suited my own personal tastes, so I thought I'd share - nothing major.

      1. I changed the focus adjustment speed in the aDOF from 0.324 down to 0.124, just for close quarter combat moments, the speed of the switch back felt very sudden. I'll probably still mess with this a bit more.

      2. I changed the far blur curve up to 2.5 from 2.32 to reduce the intensity a bit.

      3. I reduced the bokeh intensity from 0.667 (? I think?) to 0.467.

Overall, felt more gradual and less intense for my own personal preferences, as I say, you've done a wonderful job so by no means am I saying your settings aren't banging. Thank you again and I cannot wait for the update, seriously, I am addicted to this way of playing already.

Hey, i didn't see anyone else having this problem but for some reason the aDOF does this and i can't find a way to fix this. This never happened to me in any other reshade i've used, so im kinda lost.
(Im using the vivid version, but the other presets have the same problem)

Looks like to still need to set your depth buffer to be inversed. It's in the "preprocessor" section of the Reshade menu.

Hmm, that shouldn't be happening... I'll do a vid ASAP. I'll try to do it today. Sad to hear it's not working correctly.

      Thx for letting me know.

Hey, so, the good news is i found the issue... The bad news is that it's caused by the "temporal injection" option being enabled in the game's settings menu. Turning this off causes a noticeable FPS loss on my end, even in vanilla, nothing to do with ReShade. There's no known fix or workaround besides disabling temporal injection or leaving temporal injection on but disabling the two depth of field effects shaders and any depth-based shaders added in the future.

For me, i've opted to take the FPS hit and have had temporal injection disabled for years lol. I gotta have my depth-of-field. But I totally understand if someone doesn't want deal with the performance loss by disabling it -- I should clarify, disabling temporal injection doesn't seem to have any noticeable effect on game's vanilla graphics.

Oh, and I did make that video showing how to edit the preprocessor definitions though, I'll leave it here in case it's helpful still.

      Thanks so much,
      Merc

Hello, I've found a fix for people that wanna have temporal injection on (some of us are really in desperate need of that extra fps ahah).

The depth buffer is scaled down 1.5x smaller with the setting on, so adding RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_X_SCALE and RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_Y_SCALE in preprocessor definition and setting them both to 1.5 should fix the problem with any fx that requires depth map. I also had my DEPTH_BUFFER_IS_REVERSED set to 1 but if I'm not wrong you'd only need that if you're running on Vulkan.

It maay not look the exact same as if you turn off temporal injection bc like I said depth map is scaled down so it's a bit pixelated once you rescale back up. Also some fx will be offset in the menus because they're not scaled by the game. I only tested this on 1080p Vulkan so idk if it will work on other resolutions. Hope this helps.

Hello your Reshade looks awesome! however after following all the instructions it doesn't work for me at all.

pressing "Home" doesn't open any menu and when launching the game there is no text showing the reshade was installed.
i tried installing reshade as admin, Running the game as admin, making sure reshade was installed properly (dxgi.dll is installed), also i installed reshade for dx11 and im running the game on the dx11 option.

I have no idea how to get this to work :(

    *I FOUND A FIX*

For anyone who installed everything correctly but pressing "Home" doesn't open any menu during the game this is what i did to fix it...

When you start your game open task manager and double check what .exe is being used.
For me it was using Vulkan when i was installing the Reshade for my directx11 GRB.exe, for whatever reason steam was using the Vulkan exe when i never wanted it too.

So all i did was go into STEAM right click on Ghost Recon Breakpoint go into properties and under the General tab go to "Selected Launch Option" and set it too "Ask when starting the game" then make sure you choose too start the game in directx11 and check the box "don't ask again"

after that when starting my game i was able to open the Reshade menu and everything worked perfectly fine! Hopefully this helps others with the same issue!

If this works and you wanna pion the message that will hopefully help everyone with the same issue! :)

By chance is there going to be a tutorial on downloading this mod properly in Anvil? I have tried with what limited knowledge I have and am having the toughest time following these steps. I know, it's tough enough using anvil at all (Thanks UBI for making us do all this) I can't even find the config files or .ini's and for some reason google doesn't know either for this and it's in steam, so you'd think browsing local files would help but I just am not able to. Anyone pleeeeease

Hey! You don't use anvil for this mod. You're gonna wanna download reshade from reshade.me. the directions are pretty step by step on the mod page, but when downloading the shader options (they look like addon's but are separate from them while installing reshade) the shaderpack didn't autodictate what dependencies needed to be installed when selecting the file like it should have. I just checked all of them for the shader options and the mod works pretty well when hitting the home button on my keyboard. Takes some tweaking though to eliminate blur by unchecking DOF and stuff like that. Apologies if this is an unclear ramble, but shoot me a PM on here and one of these nights if you want i can talk you thru it on discord or something. Enjoy!
TLDR look at the install directions on the mod homepage cause this doesn't use Anvil or anything like that

If the mod requirement doesn't include "Avil Tool Kit", then you don't need it. Besides, reshade mods require Reshade only.

Right, I had realized that way too late and it all made sense. Doesn't matter anymore though, pretty sure Ubisoft found a way to kill the pre septmber patch in the last few months because after I reinstalled Breakpoint for different reasons it doesn't work, nobody else who was recently trying could either.. Unless y'all know some way to get it I guess I won't be able to use it anyways sadly

I'm 2 days late, but the pre september patch is still working. I'm using it with this reshade mod and a bunch of other mods. Just make sure when you are installing mods, you are doing exactly what the modders instructed you to. For example, the instruction on this mod by the author is what you need to follow. Hope it helps!

Fyi, Reshade mods aren't affected by the Pre September Patch, so it doesn't matter whether the game has been updated or not, Reshade would still work. You only use Pre September Patch to use mods such as Weapons, Outfits, Gameplay edit, Sounds, but not Reshade (because it's independent).

Rule Number One Of Modding: Always Read Installation Instructions.

Hi! Is it normal for the menu to be particularly blurry due to the depth of field? its quite hard to navigate through with the reshade enabled, but it looks great in game.

Hey, it's not calibrated to work with HDR settings at all. I don't have an HDR monitor so everything is tuned for SDR. Sorry.
