The game isn't saving, everytime i open it starts from the beginning of screen caliberation.

as for me, it worked but somehow the light effects went a bit haywire, is that supposed to happen?

I actually ran into this issue the first time I opened the game. Panicking, I ctrl+alt+deleted to open task manager.
Funnily enough, the black screen disappeared for me after doing that lol -
Thank you. This did it for me. The alternative is deleting userpreferences every time before opening the game.

Black screen fix? What black screen? You description tell us nothing about that black screen and what you fix does. Give us more information

you just need to put the GoWR.exe in the same folder and then just launch it. Just ignore the notification error message you don't need to turn off the internet connection just run the gowr.exe.

I think what their asking isn't so much HOW to use it but more along the lines of what exactly went into making it aka what changes did you make to the GoWR.exe? If any then why? If no changes where made than what makes this different from the original GoWR.exe as in is it a different version? If so is this version official/unofficial? Whats the source of the version? (Steam depot / Internet forum / Discord)
Admittedly I would also like to knows these things as well not that I'm saying it doesn't work mind you but just that this is an executable (exe) file and the most important and effective way of preventing malware is to understand what it is your installing, downloading, or in any way granting access to your computer.
Side Note:
I'm not saying this mod is malware or making any accusation of such also I'm not saying antiviruses don't work but just that they are tools and as such can't ever be expected to replace basic human judgement as you can give an incompetent man the best tools in the world but he will still fall victim to failure. Please also be aware that I'm not trying to be rude or needy and having made more than a few mods on my own I fully understand the difficult and time consuming nature of these things and thus appreciate the work you have done so far. -
This is for the pirated version. You need to disconnect your internet when you open the game for the first time.

The problem with the black screen only occurs when a different language (voice output) is set in the "steam_emu" than the language in the game. You don't need a file for that. Simply adjust the "steam_emu" in the root directory and you're done.
