Easiest way to use this mod for legitimate game copies:
Use Vortex to install this mod, then rename the file to GoWR.exe in the mod staging folder and deploy mods so that it overwrites the default exe (Vortex will keep a backup of the original file). Then launch the game from Vortex. Vortex will properly launch the game, but it will run the patched executable (since it has overwritten the original one).
And yes, you must rename the file for the game to launch properly for legitimate copies of the game.
"The program can't start because PlayStation(R) PC SDK Runtime is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I am getting this error with the 1.9 update. Is there any fix to this?
Please man, if the last of us part 2 uses avx2 we will need your magic!!! The patch worked great for me on a 3770 cpu. No sound issues or anything. Great work!
1. the game was not released and no one knows if it necessarily requires the AVX2 instruction set. 2. I will not be offering any free patches. If you want free patches, find someone else, or do it yourself.
Making patches means that the hard disk needs to keep a full copy of the game for a long time . It really doesn't take very long to program a patch. But no game runs perfectly after patching, debugging takes a lot of time and also requires computer performance.
Good news, this game does not require the AVX2 instruction set! Naughty Dog is truly the conscience of the industry and worth learning from by other game developers!
What do they have to do with it if Nixxes was handling the port ^_^.You praised them for nothing, because there are indeed 2 EXE files—one without instructions, and the second with AVX2 instructions. BUT the first one still requires F16C. Previous games (the first part) and Uncharted also had two EXE files, BUT one of them worked without requiring F16C. So, this situation is no better. Plus, it's already been checked—the EXE doesn't actually REQUIRE F16C, it just has a check for it (like in Until Dawn). Bypassing this isn't hard, but the game is terribly optimized, and I'd rather wait for a stable version (even though a working EXE is already available)... So Nixxes trolls owners of weak processors in his own way.
This cannot be guaranteed. These updates do not add any new game content and generally require 3-4 updates to be stable. More importantly, I have already completed the game, and updates depend on my mood.
Getting this error when trying to run game after the update, and updated patch: "The program can't start becuase PlayStation(R) PC SDK Runtime is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Anyone else facing this issue?
It's not difficult in practice, for those who understand, it's just a small project. For some projects that are not particularly simple or difficult, it is difficult to find the source code online.
i heard that it is done with a hex editor and you remove the code which requires avx2, something like that but i dont know how to do it, maybe if you have the time, you can tell me on discord or something.
The number of instructions to be patched is close to 1,000 and can only be handled systematically by programming batches. This requires considerable programming knowledge on the part of the author. So for those who can do it, they don't need to be taught at all (and even if they don't know how to do it, they can learn by analyzing the existing patches).

i don't understand
i searched the whole internet on how to do something like this lol
