Why do you override whole instances for some of the armors? Instead of copying whole item instance to change just visual_change you could simply do something like this: instance ITAR_DarkKnight_02(c_item) { ITAR_DarkKnight_02_old(); visual_change = "itar_knight_darkness1.asc"; }; It'll be more universal as it won't change item names or descriptions and also it won't interfere with any future updates that could change armor protections etc.

Edit: Crawler Plate Armor looks wierd too this upscaling doesn't look good on it - looks just as plastic as these mercenary armors.
